  • me personally, I love what Ryan did but Oasis has it cos its so iconic. 1 nil to those manc tossers.
  • The original is a classic, I had never heard of the Bryan Adams version and wish I hadn't.  But Flowers Pops is the nuts.
  • Big fan of Ryan (not Bryan @cfgs ) Adams' music but turned out he's not a nice person.

Think the Oasis version is the better but the Mike Flowers Pop original from 1969 is cool too.

That Ryan Adams one is a real stinker. The sort of emotional-lite crap that's made for people who don't really like music. It seems to be the antithesis of what Oasis were about. It'll probably end up in a John Lewis ad. The original is absolutely great and wins this little match up hands down.

I hadn't heard the Flowers version before, I did enjoy it but suspect that was more down to the video and the overall aesthetic than the music.

Wonderwall is a brilliant tune. If you're an amateur guitarist, it would be quite acceptable to do a little finger-picked version of it at the open mic night at your local boozer. If you're a professional musician backed by a record company, you really ought to make any cover versions your own, not just drone out a generic styled acoustic number. The one artist who has done this brilliantly with Wonderwall is Paul Anka.

  • Adam’s is crap, and Oasis has that appalling voice, Mike Flowers is the best but in my opinion it is a very low grade song indeed.
  • God I hate that song! Doesn't matter who is singing it, it's still shite.

    Ooooops.  Skim reading.
  • Original had an Addick on drums.  So, no contest.
  • Original closely followed by flowers with Adams a long way behind

  • That Ryan Adams version is terrible. As Stig said, it definitely has the feel of a John Lewis Christmas ad song.
