The horse is called Tuesday and thankfully not Charlton.

By shooting his horse called Tuesday on Sunday and getting a taxi two days later.
  • Name the Charlton player who’s first four goals for us were in a Friendly then the  league, league cup and  Facup.

  • Dulwich Hamlet
    Wingate & Finchley.
Dulwich Hamlet is correct. Who could forget our famous 4-0 FA Cup win back in 1924.

Since turning professional we have 0 games against Wingate I'm afraid.
We also played Dulwich Hamlet away before WW1, the programme is oldest known Charlton programme.

I could only find accurate data from 1920/21, that's why I started then. But would love to include more information from before then.

On the programme that's amazing. The oldest I've got (a hand me down) is from Brighton away, and only from April 1962.

Scratch that. Realised he scored 2 in the league. I was just looking through league cup and fa cup scorers. Missed that it was 2 not 1 in the league
  • Oldest known Charlton programme.  As this was a league game it means we would have played them twice that season.

Another Dulwich programme from a 1919 Cup Final.

Charlton had only reformed a few months before and played mainly charity games.

Quiz of the week time, and today I have a topical one for you. Tonight we take on Cheltenham a team we have only won once against in 6 attempts. This gives us a win percentage against them of just 16.67%. This is the 3rd lowest amongst sides we've actually won a game against.

Can you name the rest of the bottom 10? And on a slightly brighter note, the top 10 as well.

To be included I've only used those that we've played a minimum of 5 games against since 1920/21. League, FA Cup, League Cup, EFL Trophy, Full Members Cup and Anglo Italian Cup games only, no friendlies.

For a bonus point can you also name the team we have the longest consecutive winning streak against? I would include the longest losing streak as well, but they're in the bottom 10 list.

To help out I've included the amount of games played and the winning percentage.

    Bottom 10:
    1. Millwall - 76 Games (15.79%)
    2. Arsenal - 55 Games (16.36%)
    3. Cheltenham - 6 Games (16.67%)
    4. Manchester United - 61 Games (18.03%)
    5. 15 Games (20%)
    6. 10 Games (20%)
    7. 30 Games (23.33%)
    8. 85 Games (24.71%)
    9. 60 Games (26.67%)
    10. 66 Games (27.27%)

    Top 10:
    1. 9 Games (77.78%)
    2. Crewe - 8 Games (75%)
    3. Yeovil - 10 Games (70%)
    4. 9 Games (66.67%)
    5. 6 Games (66.67%)
    6. 6 Games (66.67%)
    7. 8 Games (62.50%)
    8. Stockport - 10 Games (60%)
    9. Stevenage - 5 Games (60%)
    10. 5 Games (60%)

  • Surely Milwall in the bottom 10?
    Portsmouth in the top?

Unfortunately you are correct with Millwall. Not just in the bottom 10. But firmly right at number 1!

The Portsmouth win percentage has improved over recent years but is actually 34.48%, so a little way off the top 10.
  • Arsenal
    Man U

Both up there in worst results surely
  • Arsenal

Correct. Arsenal are number 2 and Manchester United number 4. United are also the team we have the longest losing streak against, 11 games, and it's current.
  • Would think we’d have a good record against a team like Yeovil
  • Would think we’d have a good record against a team like Yeovil
We do indeed. Number 3 on the list.
  • Crewe in the top 10?

  • Crewe in the top 10?
    Yep, number 2.
  • Stockport in top 10?
  • Stockport in top 10?
    Yes, number 8.
  • I'm going to go for a strange one, Chelsea top ten?

Stevenage top ten and Liverpool bottom ten?
  • I'm going to go for a strange one, Chelsea top ten?

Stevenage top ten and Liverpool bottom ten?
Stevenage is correct, 9th in the top 10.

Chelsea (32.39%) and Liverpool (32.20%) are both near the middle I'm afraid.
  • Does this include cups? If so, pretty sure we’ve had a few wins against Barnet in cups.
  • Does this include cups? If so, pretty sure we’ve had a few wins against Barnet in cups.
It does, and we have. Number 5 on the list.
