  • RIP - lovely man - loved his enthusiasm on the show, and in interviews etc - cracking cook as well - Si King is absolutely devastated
  • The BBC have an article up that's half news item and half obituary. Really interesting life story. Hadn't realised that he had a second claim to fame, as the first male make-up artist at the BBC.

Gutted by this one. Loved the shows and thought he was on the road to recovery after their most recent shows. My wife used to work at Jaguar in Aylesford and met him when he came in to buy a car, said he was just a lovely, genuine guy.

    Fascinating life story.
  • Very sad to hear this news. I really liked the Hairy Bikers shows, you could tell they were genuine friends. Cancer is a terrible disease and it kills far too many people in this country.
RIP Dave thanks for the laughs and recipes. God bless you sir xxx
  • Sad. Thoroughly enjoyed all the Hairy Bikers. Sleep Tight.
  • Sad news, I had hoped his treatment might have beaten the cancer
  • Rip

  • Very sad news, he seemed such a lovely man.
  • Such sad news, a top bloke and all round nice guy. RIP
  • As an old biker and ex (I hope) cancer sufferer I can identify with him and thought the pair had great chemistry together.  Always enjoyed their shows and banter.  RIP.
  • Quite a shock as he appeared to give the impression that he was in remission or cured.
    RIP Dave.
  • RIP Dave.
  • Thought he was a class fella - RIP Dave
