The broadcasting of the Wigan match via Sky was poor in terms of commentating and direction. I already miss Greg, Tel and Brownie. And of course back in the studio with Scott, Curbs and Lisbie. Do we know if the Caribou cup match against Birmingham is being broadcast on Tuesday and if so where can I find the match being streamed. Thanks.
Watched it on CharltonTV, as usual, the commentary team were up doing their thing about 5m before kick-off, there were no breakdown or interruptions and we got to see a couple of highlights at the end of the match. Oh yes, the commentary was by Terry, Greg and Dave Shipperly (in place of Brownie who was recovering from an operation on his knees).

I wonder if there's any chance of a refund - I bought a 24-hour Sports Pass as this seems to be the only option to be able to watch your team play. It's not really acceptable to have the feed cut off at 89 minutes, especially with what they're charging.
Are the club pushing NordVPN in the hope of UK based people purchasing TV season tickets?
(Is that the way it works?)
Very much doubt that anyone at the club would own up to that mate. However it would make sense if say a Charlton supporter decided to pay for the CATV annual pass and watch all the games on there rather than pay SKY the arseholes

I was glad to still be able to watch Charlton TV, with Greg and Terry commenting.
However they had huge issues with the audio. They knew it, there were some pretty barbed comments from them about it, although I wasn't sure from their remarks whether the problems were created by the set-up at Wigan or the new ways they have to integrate with Sky, or both. They made more than one reference to the enormous `'challenges' faced by their colleague back in their own studio (presumably at the Valley)
The feed didn't go down before the end, but the audio immediately after the whistle seemed to be being disrupted by the Sky feed somehow. Shirty was trying to summarise and was cut off.
It was a shambles compared with what we've grown accustomed to, but hopefully the Sky -generated issues will be sorted out fairly quickly. Saturday's match when they are operating technically "at home" will tell us.
The fact that the Carabao Cup will be audio-only is a ridiculous disgrace, but the same disgrace as last season. It is the result of the deal the EFL concluded with Carabao, a company that has no interest in the UK market, and therefore should not give a toss about a few thousand fans of lower league English clubs living abroad who want to watch the early rounds of a second -rate cup competition. This was a deal negotiated by the clubs themselves, just as this new Sky deal was.
So, we don't know how Charlton voted on either of those deals but basically we should all remember that this was done in our name. Except that no one asked us first what we thought.
On the run to the Manchester United game I had to watch all the cardboard cup games in person, including Walsall away, and endure an horrendous train return from Stevenage. On Saturday the sound was buggered at the start and a bit on and off afterwards. However the stream remained carrying the ambient sound. When at matches live we don’t require commentary (unless there are personal sight issues) and I don’t see what is so wrong with streaming matches with ambient sound only. Alternatively thoroughly test the technology well before kick off.
