Charlton Life site needs re-organising

Yes it's like the draw in my kitchen, there's one with all sorts of odds and sods (ahem!) in it , batteries, scissors, string, paper clips, drawing pins rubber bands a few foreign coins etc etc. Occasionally you find what you want, more often you don't. Occasionally I find something that I didn't know I needed......but mainly I don't.

I think the site is organised, but I have noticed that for some reason google doesn't index it very well.0 -

I personally prefer the way CharltonLife is set up compared to other forums where Charlton Info is on one page, Other Sports on another page, Off Topic on another… less segmentation and clicking through things to get to the stuff you want to read.2

Blue pages for deep tactical analysis of defensive errors
Red pages for what to do put it all right
Green pages- ? state of the art pitch discussions/low Co2 emission travel to the Valley2 -

Search. function throws up a a lot junk. Need a separate search function for threads, or refine the current one so it doesn't just throw everything from the beginning of time
Yet if you accidentally put up something that's been done before........

This presents the problem with any filing system that is too detailed. Where do you store a post about the squad looking wafer-thin at an away game against local rivals where we wore a ridiculous all-green kit with yellow spots?KingKinsella said:

This site is so much better than most football supporter forums. It isn't cluttered with pointless information (a lot of forums contain loads of info about the posters on their posts that just isn't required for a conversation). The quote system collapsing the previous messages makes it easy to navigate through a conversation. The ads are not intrusive. I don't think any forum has a particularly effective search function and it is possible to find stuff via Google. I think it's easy to take this site for granted.14

This is one of the best forums out there in terms of layout and organisation, if anything posters need to learn to use the right categories more often. I'd hate if we had one of those standard WordPress or Tapatalk forums.5
