Never really saw him play other than for us, but boy it's clear he must have been good to watch.

Will always appreciate what a very useful player he was in our L1 season, great sense of positioning and anticipation, good goalscorer, skillful, competitive and someone I imagine it was great to play alongside.

Very good luck to him and 'thank you'......... 'goes by the name of Luke Berry'.

If we can sign someone this summer who has his ability and quality and who's the right age I know we'd all be very happy!

Luke Berry played a good part in our promotion from League 1 but I could never see him making an impact in the Championship in 25/26. I also thought the same about Karoy Anderson. Not sure why Nathan who see's the guys at Sparrow's lane unlike the fans had a different opinion for half the season or longer 🤔

I wish all ex Charlton players well and Luke Berry is no exception.

After what he did for us last year I’d be very surprised if no L1 club gives him an offer

Great for us last season and that goal at Wycombe was a cracker but he’s been a passenger this season and looked a little lost (Hull goal aside)

Wish him all the best but I reckon he might have to drop 2 leagues to be competitive next season

Gillingham could be a shout and it’s not often Ronnie Moore gets it wrong

A perfect signing. Came in to do a job, won us some important points in L1 and was one of the main players Jones would point to in trying to get his culture across. He started to get injuries and wasn't that available but he still got his moment against Hull this season and then got to walk away after two successful seasons

I have to be honest.  I never warmed to him at all.  Always felt he was a yard behind the ball.

Popped up with a few goals but never my favourite player.  Good luck to him but in a few years time he'll be erased from my memory bank i reckon

I'm glad you said that. I totally agree. Didn't think he was all that great last season and was practically invisible for large parts of it. Scored some important goals but ultimately underscored his xG, which is not what you would expect of a 'quality finisher.'

Good luck Bezza, did the job that he was bought in to do, get us out of league one. And did what he did what he does through out his career.. never be first choice, but makes a great contribution on and off the field. Who ever gets him next, will have a successful season.

I wish him well .A Very skillful player and would have been a top player if he got around the pitch better. He scored some crucial goals and we wouldn't be where we we are without his contribution.

He came to us five years too late. Very good footballer whose ability and our league position at the time when he was at the top of his game just didn’t match up. Wish him well.

Probably go back to Cambridge for a year and do a job for them in League 1.

He's the quintessential Nathan Jones player. Not just with his attitude but in that he's a midfielder who is all about providing a moment of quality that leads to the odd goal in a game rather than offering a lot of midfield dominance and control. 12 GA is pretty great across a season - his assisting is an underrated part of his game; Carey managed 8 goals but only 2 assists and both of those were from corners, nothing in open play - but that's pretty much the full story of what you get. He's not instigating stuff or helping control the game, he's a player who benefits from the chaos and the bouncing second ball to have his moment. I do think he was a little wasted in our L1 team in that sometimes he would play a really clever pass that went absolutely nowhere because he was on a different wavelength to the other players and a smarter attacker would have known where that ball was going to go. It was always moments though, a complete performance for Luke Berry is him running round all game, never controlling it, barely touching the ball for big chunks of the game, hitting a 15 yard banger in, getting booked needlessly and then popping up in the 96th minute to complete his brace when every other player is out of gas.

I think a lot of Berry’s good work last season went unnoticed. He seemed to lead and coordinate our press which is why I think he was always favoured to Gilbert. His game is so much about being in the right place, whether that’s defensively when we’re pressing or when arriving in the box to score

Top bloke and another consumate professional. Past his best yes, but that knowledge and experience around the younger team members was priceless. Good luck to him, we need to find a younger Luke Berry type player this summer

He will have no problem getting another contract with a newly promoted Championship team or a top league 1 side.

Sadly we are a small fish in the ocean. The only players we can afford are either on their way up (quite early) or on their way down (quite late). That's no disrespect to our squad and their efforts or skill, however higher funded clubs are in a different financial league, which (generally) affects league position.

Luke has been a great player with such skill. If he drops down, he'll be a great asset in the training ground, dressing room and on the pitch.
