  • I would love to see the stats for how many goals were created as a result of playing out from the back as against those conceded from doing so.
  • Spurs are lucky there is no VAR for that fourth goal... Not sure how that isnt seen as a foul on the Goalkeeper.
  • Nah not a foul for me. Just weak keeping
Players only tend to need to breathe near Goalkeepers to commit a foul though.
  • I know it’s the Big Flange way……but fuck me.
Those Spurs players must be thick as pig shit.

    Our players are just shit.

    Fuck me, unbearable 🙈🤬🙈🤬
Some comedy defending on both sides...
  • I wonder what Pat Jennings made of Forster's display?

to be fair to Big Fraser, thats the first mistake(s) he has made since Vicario got crocked.  He's been outstanding up until then.

The tactics of Ange remind me of Spurs under Ossie - so naive.

I remember that game when he was in goal for Norwich at the Valley and was MOM in their 1-0 win. That was almost 15 years ago and there was no expectation at that time that a keeper should be a footballer too. In the PL there is a need for a great first touch and to be able to pass at will but as much as he is still an excellent shot stopper and has a physical presence the time is probably right for Spurs to have someone more technical as back up to Vicario. All of that said, I know of a club that could do with just that sort of keeper currently residing in League 1.
  • Arsenal v Newcastle
    Spurs v Liverpool

    Two legs still
  • Forster undercooked that first pass ok fair enough but second one there’s no excuse, he was trying to be cool and not rushed when he should have just smashed the ball away asap proper dickwad play
    Newcastle v Liverpool final please
I mean Arsenal v Tottenham , would you like your left or right ball cut off sir

An Arsenal v Spurs final would be fun. I’m not sure who wins the league cup really matters (other than to the team in question).

You're right it was weak but i think VAR would've disallowed it as there was contact on his arm and these days they look for any slight reason to disallow a goal.

Yep, both things are correct. It was terrible goalkeeping, but it wouldn’t have resulted in a goal in a league match as VAR would have advised the ref to give a foul on the ‘keeper. I don’t actually think the “foul” made a difference, it would have gone in anyway due to the United keepers ridiculous attempt to get to the ball.

Arsenal will be favourites but i think the second leg at St James' where Arsenal rarely seem to do well certainly evens the tie up.

The first leg is also the midweek before Arsenal face Man U in the FA Cup where Newcastle face Bromley, so you'd expect Newcastle can prioritise the league cup and field a stronger side but Arteta will have to probably rotate his squad.

Fun? Jeez.  I would feel sick for weeks before (and probably after)!

In a one off game against them, we've got more than half a chance.

Oh poor Spurs fan, does your tummy feel a little funny at the thought of a major cup final? We’re playing fecking Northampton tomorrow praying for our second win in the third division for a couple of months!
It's all relative though. To us it would be a dream to be a decent PL club on the verge of a domestic cup final. But Spurs are a big club, spend a lot on transfers, have an amazing stadium, and pay some of the highest ticket prices in the world. Yet they haven't won anything of note for a generation and are currently sat below the likes of Forest, Bournemouth and Fulham so their fans are probably also pissed off.

  • As a neutral, a Newcastle vs Spurs final would be a great occasion, as it would be two teams DESPERATE to win the trophy, which is what the EFL Cup needs to keep it relevant.

Sorry, should have been clearer, I was joking!
