Has had almost zero service in 4 games and his strike "partner" is a kid who is actually a winger being asked to play a completely new role.
But we spent money on him and he's not called Gary Adams so people are very quick to jump on his back. I'd want to see him with a proper striker up top and with a few decent crosses and set pieces coming his way before I write him off personally

Yes, you’re right. People’s doubts about him are all about his nationality and nothing to do with his poor technique, poor passing, or lack of speed.

Silly comment.
Explain why in the CE lower last week, he headed the ball to no-one, and a fan screamed "go back to selling carpets" then? I'm not saying it's the only doubts people have about him but it definitely doesn't help his case. If it was an academy graduate he'd get a tonne more leeway

Yeah he's had no service but has anyone criticised his finishing?

Because we have racist morons “supporting” us, like all teams do. If he was an academy graduate and had come in and had as little impact as this in his first 4 matches, people would be saying he “isn’t ready” or “needs a loan in League 2”.
Comments like “go back to selling carpets” are unacceptable and indefensible, but I’d argue they’re being shouted because he hasn’t been any good so far, not that people think he isn’t any good because he isn’t English, at least for the vast majority of people who are expressing concerns about him.
Doesn't seem to suit the Jones style of play. We certainly don't seem to be playing to his limited strengths. League one fodder never do well when you ask them to adapt. Its the reason they are league one fodder! Why we went out on a limb for him is anyone's guess?
If anyone managed to catch his warm ups, I was truly baffled, similar shooting ability to Simon Church.
I can't see him scoring many with his feet
Of his 11 league goals last season, six were headers and three were penalties. So yeah, he scored twice last season with his feet from open play. And we would’ve been well aware of it before bringing him in.
I agree, it is concerning because so far there hasn’t really been any hint at what he’s good at. You expect some weaknesses in players at this level but also some strengths. There’s not even that much physicality about him, he’s not a strength beast and he’s no Yann or Deon Burton when it comes to winning everything in the air.
He was better in the Pompey pre season friendly, a game in which he and TC linked better as well, but now we’ve seen him in games that matter he’s sort of giving me Sam Lavelle vibes, albeit opposite ends of the pitch, in that you watch him and think there’s nothing wrong with his effort but you’re still left wondering what our scouts saw in him.
Hopefully just a case of us figuring out how to unlock his strengths but, I’ll be honest, I’m not holding my breath.

Jones signed him.
Oh come off it, everyone knows it goes likes this:
Good player - Jones signing Bad player - Scott signing
Could do with a goal, looks a bit shot shy, Josh Parker mark 2?
I don’t think he’s a Josh Parker. JP was a workhorse, doing all the dirty work so more talented players (especially Taylor) could shine.
I think Ahadme is supposed to be a target/hold the ball up type player. We haven’t seen much of that so far which is either because he’s rubbish or we simply don’t have the quality to hit him with good passes/crosses. In reality it’s probably somewhere in the middle of those two things.
Can't comment on his warm ups but he just looks low on confidence to me. He's trying to win fouls the ref is never going to give and he's almost always at the near post when the cross is going to the far post and vice versa. Once he gets that right (which is partly down to inconsistent crossing) I think he'll start to get goals and assists. Would be interested to see how he played against a tiring defence but that would probably require someone else starting alongside TC which I'm not sure would work either
Was amazed at the plaudits he was getting on here after the Bolton game. I thought he looked totally lost. He gets a few more games but starting to look like we’ve been sold a pup.
He's still young, has a good pedigree, it's early days yet. He had an injury over summer so not sure if he's up to Jones level of fitness yet. I am willing to give him time. Scouts must of seen something I hope. Once Miles is back it will do him good not starting week in and out, and he can come in when he has to and build up his confidence. It's a long season and I'm not writing him off yet. But big improvement needed in the long term
I've more hope of TC working out, at least he's caused some problems and had a few moments. Ahadme hasn't shown anything. There was a moment against Orient where the ball landed to him at the back post - perfect opportunity to bring it down and get a shot away - he panicked and headed it back across goal where there was nobody.
Against Bolton the ball broke for him, this time an opportunity to drive a few strides towards goal and get a shot away, he took six touches to control it and somehow ended up with his back towards goal.
His general hold-up play and ability to make the ball stick has been nowhere. Compare to a proper hold-up player like Conor Wickham. We could ping a diagonal to him and he'd back in to his man, bring it down and lay it off. (Not saying we should have signed him).
We've rewarded Gassan with a 4-year deal so surely this is more to him than what we're seeing, because otherwise this is looking like a terrible deal and one we'll be stuck with for a long time.
He was really poor yesterday to a frustrating degree, but why do players always have to be either brilliant or duds? He's played 4 games in a new team where he has received absolutely no service. He's not Yann, he's not going to be brilliant with the ball in to feet and most of his goals last season were headers. He's had no decent opportunities like that yet and we need to work on creating chances across the board. Some of our best players from the past few years looked rubbish in their first 3 or 4 games but went on to do well, it's entirely possible we have a player who has started poorly and will improve. Maybe he'll have runs of form and runs of being out of form. Maybe not but the inability for there to be anything inbetween ever in football these days is really bizarre.

Remember some people on here said Coventry was big bucks, and it turned out he was free with conditional extras based on performance

Looks like a dud i'm afraid and selling Alfie May is looking like the most stupid thing we've done in years and that's not a high bar.
