That was disappointing from our No.26 who lost the ball, and simply held his arms out, was that Hylton?
    Was it Stockley? 😂
Only if the arms were going up and down…

Godden's run into space was top draw, always available when the ball was moved forward. Edwards looks like he has a decent line ball in him and Alex Mitchell is a step up from our centre backs of the last two years.

Our number 26 looks not ready for a game yet.
Good forward play from both 11's just not happy that once again we can not keep a clean sheet.
Lol. Comments like that about pre-season friendlies make me die.

Still, its 3 points though, eh?!

Not a bad training exercise, although it was hard to make out what was going on when the ball was on the far side of the pitch.

The first half pictures reminded me of the old Finch's Sports videos which you could buy from Forest Hill area, save that they were about 10 times better !

I don't get the feeling that Alex Mitchell will be the type of player to daydream on the pitch.
He certainly looks as if he likes to be on his game, and expects those around him to focus as he seems to.

defensively Edwards got beat too easily on a couple of occasions.

I might be alone in this but I enjoyed the football chat between Charlotte and Brownie. It was clearly never meant to be proper commentary and their chat provided an interesting backdrop to the actual match.

A decent performance on the pitch too. It will have provided good insights for NJ and his team to work on and given the players a bit of invaluable match fitness. A good end to what looks like a very productive week in Slovenia.

Didn’t see any of it but sounds like a decent run out after a tough weeks graft

So, our potential 1st team forwards, Adhame and Godden have yet to score, ominous?

Is Campbell, the new Alfie May?

Correct. They both have 0 goals in 0 appearances for Charlton. Ominous indeed.

Taylor's passing looks off, as does his touch. Looks small and slight of build. Still waiting to see what this lad is about.

Maybe best to give him more time to show what he can do.

They’ve played two halves, if I’m correct?

I'm out today, so not watching. VERY surprised to be getting BBC score flashes on a friendly game. They clearly know how massive we are!

Good workout, I think. Good result. It was difficult to follow the game though because of the single camera at a very low angle. I was up at 3:45am to watch that. Not sure if it was worth it. Anyway, onto the next one. I’ll be a glutton for punishment!

And? Mitchell's scored today, doesn't mean we should play him up front ffs

It’s just a comment, why get so wound up? I’m just saying it would’ve been nice.

    Mitchell, now there’s a thought;)

    Chill out!

The whole point of pre- season games is to get players out of the gym and into the sort of live situations they'll face in the season. Perfect preparation. 🙃

    Yep.
Sam (not me) won the prize for the 1st to say Jones out, ( always a guaranteed like comment 😀)and Chunes for the criticism of Terry Taylor( our new signing 😁)  in the 1st half despite the picture being hazy and other than a little kick about against lowly Dartford this really is just about fitness and getting the feel of the ball again.

It's good that Nathan Jones treats it like a league match and wants the lads to hit the running but it really should be a free hit for the players.

I think the first week back and the Dartford friendly was a satisfactory start, and this second week has been good.

I think there may be more of a reality check coming up next week, with I believe games away at Millwall on Tuesday, and Crystal Palace on Friday. Correct me if I am wrong, but both games are 'behind closed doors' with a 12noon kick off each time, I also understand the game on Friday will be streamed on Charlton TV.

I am hoping to be able to feel this time next week, that we have had a very good week on returning to London.

The Pompey game will be the one to judge how prepared we are & how we think the season will go.  Until then they are merely training games to get the squad up to speed & to get miles into their legs.

    Chill guys.

Is that why they’ve been making him train separately?

No point even discussing relative quality of the players until the first game of the season.

    Just don't want injuries.

Count me in for that. I get it that some people would rather just concentrate on the football being played but Brownie's experiences are great to listen too and Charlotte talking about what's happening behind the scenes at the Valley and training ground is good to hear too.
