Hej Lars! It's so great that fans from afar take interest and are committed. What our club need to understand, is that support takes many forms and the collective power of these combined, keep a club alive through difficult times.
Lacking respect for fans will only take the club in one direction!
There are so many small clubs around Sweden that are equally as deserving of sponsorship. I went to Varbergs Bois last weekend. I emailed the club manager about my 88 year old father-in-law needing appropriate seating and received promt reply from him with a cc'd note to club secretary and more emails were exchanged with multiple recommendations and advice, all very welcoming.
Note: Fan is short for fanatic. Understand this Charlton owners!

Hard to understand this. It’s not difficult or costly to the club and shows a complete lack of respect and an inability to see fans involvement for what it is. Essential. Hope all of you affected by this get a speedy resolution and a deserved grovelling apology.
Edit : I completely realise this is no fault of the players involved here. It’s an administrative issue but I wonder if the players who are fortunate enough to have their kit sponsored perhaps ought to be asked to get a little more involved in what happens. Just a thought.

Lars doesn’t post on here, but I’ll share your post with him, mate.
It's a shame that the club lost some excellent staff who really understood good 'customer' service, particularly people like Ravi and Josh before him, who both went out of their way to help.
Ravi tried to compensate me for attending an eating function where there was literally no food for me. I was invited to another meal, where Ravi guaranteed it would be OK, even sent me a menu to make the choice, but guess what, when it happened there was no food for me. When I enquired of the chef serving up his response was, I kid you not, ‘I blame myself’. Ravi asked how it was going and I told him, he was visually crestfallen, but at that point I simply said ‘leave it’. So even a good guy like Ravi was let down by others and it impacted on a supporter. I am not surprised he went to Leyton Orient. I think the presence of Keohane generally poisoned the customer facing aspect of Charlton Athletic, and that culture is still present in many aspects of club life even now.
I used to love upgrading a few times a season with my Son. The Keith Peacock suite was always a great experience. Tried once last year and I didn't enjoy it. I know this is just a small part of the overall hospitality gig, but 100s of small upgrades equates to lots of more cash spent. And Customer Service should be a big part of the day.

In the nicest possible way, I'm wondering why your father in law isattending his first game for his beloved team aged 88?

They made him stand up….?
He was halfway through a one-man pitch invasion when that picture was taken.
I know this isn’t exactly the same, but I just wanted to highlight how good Charlton were in the past and how good they can be when communicating with fans - I’m reminded of my dad writing to Charlton after the birth of my daughter in 2008. We played at Doncaster on the day she was born, so dad asked the club if it would be possible to get some sort of souvenir - he suggested a programme if possible.
After a day or two he told me he’d been contacted by the club and they said they’d try to get a couple of programmes. He was made up.
A couple of weeks later, he received two programmes signed by both the Charlton team and the Doncaster team, with a message from both sides saying congratulations on your new arrival.
It’s the little things that people remember. I’m so grateful to whoever it was that dad spoke to. But also the club, the management and players. Also, for what it’s worth, the people at Doncaster who went far above and beyond.
My daughter now has a personalised souvenir from the day of her birth of something important to her dad and her now sadly departed grandad.
This sort of stuff is priceless. I hope @Danepak that the person you pointed towards this thread takes note.
As an added point. We won the game at Doncaster that night. We then didn’t win away again for nearly 8 months. (It was that awful season we went down to league one for the first time). Despite the awful season, it’s one of my favourite memories as a fan.

My daughter was born on the exact same day!
I didn't think to mention it to anyone at the club or ask for a souvenir. Which to be fair is probably just as well given the absolute cack we had playing for us back then!

To be fair, at that point it looked like we were just going to have an unremarkable season.
The impending abomination that the season would turn into was not clear in September!
By the way, is your daughter a Charlton fan now? I tried with mine, but her interest in football is less than zero! 😟

Not a chance. However, I have had an influence on her musical tastes, which I'm more than happy about. At least now she can listen to some decent music and enjoy it - rather than spend a lifetime watching dogshit football!
More disappointment for all international supporters. ‘24-‘25 season International Supporter's Day is announced for Tuesday, March 4th. How the actual f**k do they expect international fans to travel easily to a mid-week game?
This is so sad and depressing to hear. The club and fans should be acting as one.
A friend of mine is a Tractor Boy who has recently had heart surgery. I asked ITFC to send something to cheer him up and they messed up and failed to deliver. However, after a moaning email they rectified their error and came up trumps with what they did send.
We (CL) didn’t look to kit sponsor last season as we never received all our shirts from the previous season and none of our dinner winners got sent their photos from the evening. Saddened but not surprised by what Lars posted.
Asked if photos taken when we did Crossbar Challenge were available and received no response whatsoever. It’s doing the small things that show commitment to fan engagement, not the big marketing offers.

I know we joke about your vegetarian options but that is really poor.

I’ve never sponsored kit or anything else but surely those of you that have are entered into a contract with the club regarding what you receive in exchange for your sponsorship? If this hasn’t been met by the club in as much that you haven’t received either the photos or shirts or both then threaten to take them to small claims. Seems drastic but it might highlight to the club that their shoddy treatment of their supporters needs to be looked at and problems resolved ?
Ravi got a lot of praise on here.I dealt with him twice. Once bringing two Jewish clients to a game with catering etc at a cost of something like £200 each iirc. They were served sausage rolls at half time despite me having said no pork. The second time I asked for a birthday shout out for my life long supporting 70 yr old dad. He responded to my email saying yes and it was never done. Maybe he was always let down by others. The service at the club has been dire for years.
I never did receive Sasa Ilic's shirt after the 98 Wembley final. I believe he took it home which is fair play but the club didn't have the savvy to keep that quiet and offer me another keeper's shirt. They gave me a full refund which kind of defeated the object. No more sponsorship after that.
By way of contrast. My father in law is an ardent Millwall fan and was until this season a season ticket holder. When he was approaching his 90th birthday I wrote to Millwall asking if it would be possible for them to send a birthday card to mark the occasion. They wrote back saying it would be a pleasure and asked for details etc. two days before his birthday he received a letter from the club signed by the players wishing him a happy birthday and thanking him for his support since childhood and a scarf. Cost the club virtually nothing but this is exactly the sort of thing our club should be doing. It’s a shame and frankly embarrassing.

So you would have been happier if they had deceived you rather than refunding you for a service not supplied?

Yes, because I wouldn't have known otherwise.
Until you tried to put it up for auction, and they found out Ilic had the real shirt framed on his wall at home!

From an outside perspective they seem an extremely well run club during the Berylson eras in a manner we were 20 years ago.
Having said that have always had excellent service from front line ticket staff and club shop even this week when they've sorted something for me.
