An outstanding evening. A setlist delivered from the gods and Oasis sounded out of this world.

Crowd was absolutely on it from start to finish. All 74,000 people standing and giving 100% for the whole show, even up in the rafters.

Have to admit to feeling a little choked when the brothers came out hand in hand, arms raised, to kick off the gig. One of those “I was there” moments.

Must've been great to be be at their first gig back. Did you just get lucky with tickets or did you pay a fortune for resale?

Not sure I agree with only Gen Z enjoying broader Oasis songs. I’d love to see songs from Heathen Chemistry, Standing on the Shoulders.. and Don’t Believe the Truth on that set list. I don’t even mind Dig Out Your Soul as it’s still better than a lot of albums from other bands.
Oh I think there are plenty of people who enjoy post Britpop Oasis, I'm one of them! It's just the narrative that they faded into irrevency comes from Millennials but younger generations don't see it like that at all.
We’ll have to agree to disagree and not derail the thread.  Millennials are Oasis’ core base, grew up on and lived through Oasis and love them. Would agree there is a snobbery from the musical press, but not fans.

How are millennials their core base?

Millennials according to google are born 81 to 96? I was at Knebworth in 96.

    Take that statement back! 😃
    *older Millenials 😜

Deepest apologies from an old Millennial Curb It! 🙏

  • It was great to see them back last night.

    Good to see that

Noels ex wife was likely a significant influence why the brothers departed from each other in the 1st place.

Got the tickets through the Ticketmaster route when they went on sale.

Deliberately went for Cardiff as wanted to be at the first reunion gig. That may have helped whilst most were trying for London or Manchester.

Tickets were still very expensive, but was worth every penny.

Ahh yes, if in doubt, blame a woman.

Only one missing for me for these size gigs is “ stop crying your heart out”
I think if I could add one to the set list it would be Columbia.
    Great shout

Thats a bit of a leap, she did not like Liam Gallagher for whatever reason and that would have had a degree of influence. The ex tabloid journalist Gordon Smart has a pretty good relationship with the band and said when Noel and his ex wife announced they were separating that there was much more chance of a reunion happening now.  Which tells me she was a factor. No blame, as I imagine being a sibling of and also working with Liam would be exhausting however when your wife is also suggesting enough is enough they are that much of an influence in your life that view woukd factor into your decision making.

I think I already uploaded this on a previous oasis orientated discussion.

Well, Liam, the jokes on you this time around as we actually did do it!

  • First Saturday 3pm of the season and I’ll be missing it for Oasis at Wembley.   One game where I wouldn’t have minded a 12.30!

    They look and sound amazing

Seeing them in NY in August but nothing better than a home gig

This already feels like an iconic image.
Noel seems to have aged 10 years in the last year or so.
  • Are the rest of Oasis in the band this tour or are the brothers being backed by session men ?
  • Are the rest of Oasis in the band this tour or are the brothers being backed by session men ?
3 ex members (1 original) and a new drummer

Of the last tour, Gem, and Andy Bell are there along with Bonehead, who hasn't played live with since about 98.

    No idea on the drummer

good that it's a proper reunion and not just the brothers using the Oasis name backed by newcomers
  • Loved watching the videos and cant wait for Toronto next month.... but have to say the drummer seemed a bit pants during Acquiesce.
