An outstanding evening. A setlist delivered from the gods and Oasis sounded out of this world.
Crowd was absolutely on it from start to finish. All 74,000 people standing and giving 100% for the whole show, even up in the rafters.
Have to admit to feeling a little choked when the brothers came out hand in hand, arms raised, to kick off the gig. One of those “I was there” moments.
Must've been great to be be at their first gig back. Did you just get lucky with tickets or did you pay a fortune for resale?
Not sure I agree with only Gen Z enjoying broader Oasis songs. I’d love to see songs from Heathen Chemistry, Standing on the Shoulders.. and Don’t Believe the Truth on that set list. I don’t even mind Dig Out Your Soul as it’s still better than a lot of albums from other bands.
Oh I think there are plenty of people who enjoy post Britpop Oasis, I'm one of them! It's just the narrative that they faded into irrevency comes from Millennials but younger generations don't see it like that at all.
We’ll have to agree to disagree and not derail the thread. Millennials are Oasis’ core base, grew up on and lived through Oasis and love them. Would agree there is a snobbery from the musical press, but not fans.

Got the tickets through the Ticketmaster route when they went on sale.
Deliberately went for Cardiff as wanted to be at the first reunion gig. That may have helped whilst most were trying for London or Manchester.
Tickets were still very expensive, but was worth every penny.
Noels ex wife was likely a significant influence why the brothers departed from each other in the 1st place.
Ahh yes, if in doubt, blame a woman.
Thats a bit of a leap, she did not like Liam Gallagher for whatever reason and that would have had a degree of influence. The ex tabloid journalist Gordon Smart has a pretty good relationship with the band and said when Noel and his ex wife announced they were separating that there was much more chance of a reunion happening now. Which tells me she was a factor. No blame, as I imagine being a sibling of and also working with Liam would be exhausting however when your wife is also suggesting enough is enough they are that much of an influence in your life that view woukd factor into your decision making.
On my way back home last night in Cardiff, all I can say if you tickets for any tour date, you are in for a treat, the most fantastic night and they were on point, my son couldn’t believe how good Noel sounded on his solo’s
Seen Oasis a few times over the years and always enjoyed the gigs. Didnt go for tickets for the reunion, as just way out of my price range even without the dynamic pricing shit! Now they've come around im mad jealous of everyone that's going! Taking bout ages of fans im 47 so the 90s was a great time for me growing up. Did my gcse's in 94 and left school to work in 95. Wasn't really into guitar music, just hip hop and d&b but Oasis and britpop soundtracked my formative drinking years! Was a great time. Music, euro 96, first holidays away with mates and Charlton suddenly became good too!
Noel seems to have aged 10 years in the last year or so.
Liam grabbing his arm and Noel's expression reminds me of my mum dragging me over to say goodbye properly to my Nan when we went round for tea as a kid.

Good to see that

I think I already uploaded this on a previous oasis orientated discussion.
Well, Liam, the jokes on you this time around as we actually did do it!
Legend
cannot wait for Wembley in Sept - been 30 years since I first saw them live
They look and sound amazing
Seeing them in NY in August but nothing better than a home gig
