any Charlton going out to Dublin for this (or already live there)?
Any ideas or suggestions on a place that might be able to show our game before the England match now it’s going ahead ?

I live in Dublin and have a season ticket in the Aviva. Literally nowhere would show the Charlton game if it was on but it's not because the EFL 3pm blackout somehow extends to Ireland as well.
I'm not at ALL looking forward to Carsley doing a reverse-Jack-Charlton nor am I excited about getting beaten by England.
Humbug.2 -
            Noted!0

Tried to get tickets in the ballot but this one was about as hard as they come. Hoping to get Finland away or Greece away but not holding my breath.

Yes was difficult I got very lucky on the second chance sale.0

There isn’t a blackout in place in the UK on an international weekend. Sky are showing multiple games live at 3pm (all matches from leagues one and two that aren’t cancelled due to international break)SpicedAddick said:I live in Dublin and have a season ticket in the Aviva. unfortunately, the televised game is Burton Albion, with Charlton behind the red button with several other games, so good luck finding somewhere that will put that on for you 😳😂3 -
right… you say that but our game is the most 2nd most high profile football match taking place this Saturday at 3pm, possibly anywhere! And Burton are not playing this weekend so that certainly won’t be shown anywhere.
basically, anywhere showing football on Saturday at 15:00 will either be showing our game or the fucking Hollywood fan fare…
it can’t be that unrealistic to think a pub will be willing to stick it on?!

You can all come around to mine so.
Failing that, I would definitely ask in any bar that is showing Burton if they will hit the red button for you.

Pubs in Dublin could well be showing GAA or Leinster Rugby (certainly ahead of English League one)
Remember football is there what 4th sport?
Only possibility might be finding a more ‘local’ boozer that might stick one of their telllies on another channel but there ain’t too many of them near the Aviva0 -

Most pubs in the centre of Dublin will show what they think those inside drinking will want to watch. Especially if it’s the Temple Bar area. If there’s enough of you in there wanting it and you’re necking pints, they’ll shove it on.Southendaddick said:Pubs in Dublin could well be showing GAA or Leinster Rugby (certainly ahead of English League one)

Just use the VPN on your phone and buy a ticket to watch the match either from the club or Now TV (if its on Sky).0

Yes this is the backup plan, rather watch properly in a pub if possible. As ridiculous as it sounds cos nobody will care, but I’ve managed to watch some awful Charlton games abroad before, got a JPT game against Brentford about 15 years ago on a big screen in Madrid , so where there’s a will there’s a waySolidgone said:Just use the VPN on your phone and buy a ticket to watch the match either from the club or Now TV (if its on Sky).

Doesn’t the England game start at 5pm? Would be near impossible to get from central Dublin to the Aviva in time after our game ends0

If you find a pub let me know, 2 of us will join youpaulsturgess said:

Not sure what kind of team we'll have out without Bellingham, Foden or Palmer in the squad and we also didn't call up Maddison either.
Maybe Grealish - Eze - Saka?0 -

Few decent pubs within a 10 minute walk of the Aviva. If they’re amenable you might get to see the first half at least.cafctom said:Doesn’t the England game start at 5pm? I see our gutter press are already gunning for Carsley then. Depressingly predictable.

I couldn't care less if sings ours, theirs or dances a jig with a shamrock up his Aris' if he manages the team properly, but it's important to some I suppose.10 -
Not bothered if he sings or not, but Not sure this makes them gutter press.0

            I blame Keir Starmer.4
 -

I think that point's long since established surely? Regardless, it's obvious that for at least some of our newspapers this is going to be a stick to beat him with before he's even managed his first game.MrOneLung said:Not bothered if he sings or not, but Not sure this makes them gutter press.3 -

Funny how the Ireland leg of his European tour coincided with the England match.Algarveaddick said:I blame Keir Starmer.
expect to see him trying to buddy up to prince William at England games going forward

Starmer seems to be a regular attender at football matches.
He does not seem to confuse Aston Villa with West Ham United.6 -

I don’t see a reason for calling Prince William the ‘c’ word in your post.cafcdave123 said:
