The man responsible for the iconic bass line on "Walk on the Wild Side" has passed away aged 86. He also worked with Bolan, Bowie, Nilsson, various Beatles as well as many others. He also wrote Clive Dunn's novelty hit "Granddad" and was a founder member of Sky (the band, not the TV channel). As an aside, he was also a neighbour of my uncle and auntie when they lived in Australia, and they always spoke very highly of him and kept in touch until they passed away. RIP Herbie.
