Different scorelines

Manchester City’s 10-1 defeat of Huddersfield Town in a Division Two match at Maine Road on 7th November 1987 is not only the last time so far a club has scored double-figures in a league match, but it was also the 71st and latest different score line in a league match involving Manchester City. This makes them the club having recorded the most different score lines. Second are Leicester City with 67 and third Grimsby Town with 66. Of the clubs having played at least 4,000 league matches, Leyton Orient have had the fewest different score lines, 50.
Just for the record, Manchester City also hold the record for most different score lines on away soil, 56, ahead of Walsall and Wolverhampton Wanderers with 55, while the record on home soil belongs to Birmingham City with 60 ahead of Aston Villa with 58.

How many do we think Charlton have had?

    I'd hazard a guess that it's between 51 and 70!

Never heard this one before - we must be somewhere near the top, we've had 7-6, 6-6, 5-5, 8-4 and 11-1. Can't be too many clubs with all of those.

Oh I saw a great post on facebook the other day, that listed every set of scores, and the team(s) that had had the most occasions of said score.

will try to find it later tonight.

Surely the wildest score ever was in the Scottish Cup in 1885 when Arbroath beat Bon Accord 36-0. At the same time in the same competition and just 18 miles away, Dundee Harp beat Aberdeen Rovers 35–0. Actually in that second game the referee recorded 37 goals, but deferred to Dundee Harp's club secretary who had recorded just 35. A moment of magnanimity forever robbing Harp of the all time scoring record. It may not be immediately obvious from their name where Bon Accord came from, but it's a reference to the storming of Aberdeen Castle which was their local landmark. This means that two teams from the same city conceded at least 71, and possibly 73 goals, in the same competition, in the same afternoon, without reply. Surely, that will never be repeated.
