Jack Porter - 16 Year Old Arsenal Goalie

Given his debut tonight for Arsenal v Bolton in the Carabao cup v Bolton, interesting to see how well he does, Arsenals youngest ever starting player.

  • If he’s any good, I wonder if we can get him on loan in January?

May he get battered at the very first set piece...

Bet he dont even touch the ball first half!
  • Hoping he keeps a clean sheet. I'm on for 20k on the super 6 but they've scored the 3 too early
  • And as I write that, there goes my 20k 😭

At the age of 16, he is probably 3 years away from a L1 loan

    But good enough for Arsenal...🙄

Only because Raya and Setford are injured and Neto is cup-tied though

    I'd rather Etan Nwaneri!

A one off for a league cup match they expected to win comfortably is very different to a 16 year old playing regularly for a L1 club. Players that young rarely go out on loan, it’s unlikely to be what’s best for them.

We’ve also given plenty of academy players debuts in cups, many never or rarely played for us again and dropped into non-league.
Agree100%...wasn't thinking of us anyway...we've got AMB as back up...🙄
  • Dizzee Rascal & Calvin Harris were Number 1 when he was born - I was at Uni when that came out :(

With an impressive 76, Jack Porter has set a benchmark for the largest gap between his age (16) and his shirt number (92).
maybe an English record. Don't know if this is the highest but Tommy Oar wore no. 121 playing for Australia when he was 19

Was amongst 165 people still playing for the super 6 jackpot. Had 3-0 arse and 2-1 Liverpool. Could have been worse.  The last one standing had 5-1 arse and 4-1 Liverpool and lost out in the last 5 minutes.

    It's only money you didn't have...and still don't🤷‍♂️

Exactly, I'd only have donated it to the donkey sanctuary because that's the type of guy I am. I definitely wouldn't have buggered off on a holiday this week.

Gianluigi Donnarumma played for AC Milan aged 16 while wearing shirt no. 99.

It was a flakey performance though
  • Kameron Muir came on as Sub in Notts County's 2-1 win at Burton in the BSM Trophy. Muir was 15 years and 32 days old on the night !

The previous record at County was Jermaine Pennant at 15 years and 10 months old.
  • And he was wearing shirt number 125.

    😀
49 was the number that Muir wore and he made his debut for County's U21's when he was 14.

The record is almost certainly someone in Mexico. They use bands of numbers for different development levels, and players keep those numbers if they are called up for a game. 1-99 are just for the first team squad, and 100, 200, 300, 400 as used for the lower levels. You definitely see subs coming on with 200+ numbers in some games, and I think I’ve seen one in the 300’s for some Mickey Mouse cup - which is why I had to find out why.
