  • All seems very bizarre.

What about those who’ve already bought?

They could have offered this to anybody wanting to go.
They know very well that the take up on this will be virtually non existent.
  • We tend to do better away with smaller support.
We're nearly always pants when we take a very good following (apart from Pompey A).
Maybe Barnsley read this & then decided to give us some free tickets

Bring two people to Charlton clash at Oakwell

The Reds return to Oakwell on Tuesday 22nd October to face Charlton Athletic, and in an effort to continue to make football more accessible, we are offering 24/25 Season Ticket Holders two additional tickets for free - allowing you to bring along families members or friends at no extra cost.

All concession season tickets can also be upgraded to adult tickets for free ahead of the fixture too. Additionally there will be a complimentary hot drink for all those in those in attendance pre-match and all hot food and drinks will be 50% off until kick off and at half time too for this fixture.

Great offer, now I just need to make two new friends.
I have lots of friends. You wouldn't know them; they go to a different football club.

The offer is designed for Barnsley Season ticket holders, they have offered the same deal to Charlton season ticket holders, maybe that is an EFL rule, similar to Away supporters cannot be charged more than home supporters in similar stands.
Not my understanding of the EFL rules from looking into it last season - clubs able to make offers to own ST holders without having to make it reciprocal - unless that’s changed this season but it doesn’t make much sense. It’s true re equivalent pricing for away fans - so if we do football for a fiver for all home tickets, we have to include away in that.

That stand holds about 6500 doesn’t it

It’s half term and I’m trying to find a way to go, went to Wigan last season after taking the boys to Blackpool but what the hell is there to do for kids anywhere near Barnsley 😂
There’s a leisure centre with a bowling alley and a fun pool right next to the car park. And a bar.
There’s also Excape at Castleford, the National Coal Museum at Wakefield takes you underground which my grandkids loved and for culture vultures there is the Yorkshire Sculpture Park with sculptures by Moore, Hepworth and Gormley in the park and plenty of space to run around, picnic etc. People who don’t know Last of the Summer Wine country might be pleasantly surprised how attractive the area is…but perhaps not Barnsley!
    • Tickets are no longer on sale online, but can be purchased from Oakwell on matchday, with a price increase of £2.

Been a few times as live local'ish.

Old No7 let away fans in and do very decent beer, cask, keg etc.
Just over the road was Spiral City and they had some keg lines.

15 minute walk to the ground
