Shame that. Tough game against a decent team who have already beaten L1 sides this year.
Away at a soulless stadium I have already been to (we lost 2-0) and have no desire to go back to. This fixture does not equal the magic of the FA Cup! 🤣🤣.
Hope we win and get a more interesting draw next round. Good luck to the mad few who do go.
All over that draw Walsall away we can pick up my favourite son Boffin on the way from Brum university
even better just realised I have an indoor cricket match that day and can get rid of Mrs and the other little cnuts and have some me time and not go to Charlton , perfect
Well no matter what happens, at least any upset won't be as bad as the one Arsenal had when they lost to Walsall in the cup:
1933 FA Cup Upset
In the third round of the FA Cup, Walsall, then a Third Division (North) team, faced Arsenal, who were reigning First Division champions and arguably the best team in England at the time. Against all odds, Walsall defeated Arsenal 2-0 in front of a packed Fellows Park. Goals from Gilbert Alsop and Bill Sheppard sealed the victory, and Walsall's triumph is still celebrated as one of the most remarkable giant-killings in FA Cup history.
I used to buy all the end of season videos, and this one was arguably our greatest ever season but it really annoyed me the video was narrated by this guy who was so dull and painful to listen to , he made an unbelievable season and a league record winning run sound like commentary of somebody unloading the dishwasher
Haven't been to Walsall since that game in 1975 at Fellowes Park. I remember the corrugated iron stand they had. Waiting at the local railway station and being pelted with lightbulbs and a fire extinguisher when a train carrying ManU fans, I think, on their way back from Forest or somewhere. Carnage on New Street station. The joys of 70s football travel

Must just add to that that it was a great effort though by the fella in question just in case he happens to be a contributor on here, although his lack of enthusiasm would suggest that’s unlikely
Interestingly there was not a single all League One tie in the first round so all 24 sides faced lower league opposition. Lincoln are still yet to play, but of the other 23:
Won by 2+ (90 mins): 6 Won by 1 (90 mins): 4 Won in extra time: 5 Won on penalties: 2 Lost: 6
Over half the teams either lost or were taken to extra time.
Worth noting that of the 6 teams that won by 2+ in 90 mins, 2 of those increased it to 2+ in injury time, including Exeter who scored their winner, and additional goal both in injury time. Peterborough were 2-0 down at one point, and Mansfield played 74 minutes of their game against 10 men.

OR to look at it the other way 17 (could be 18) league one clubs have progressed, which is pretty good ! Could be 75% through

Yeah I meant it more as though there were only a handful of teams at most that when their games finished walked away thinking they'd had a comfortable day, and easily beaten a team in a lower division to them.
18 of 24 through does feel like more than normal, but I'm not sure how many times there hasn't been at least 1 all League One tie, which has obviously helped.
1) It’s fairly easy to get to as far as away days outside of London go.
2) Its not a League One team
3) Expecting a decent turn out from the home side. Looked pretty busy yesterday for their game against Bolton
4) It’s not a game that would be considered some embarrassing, jaw dropping cup shock if we lose
4) is a pretty chastening positive
We’re out to a lower division team but they’re not the lowest rank club in the competition so we’ll take it
Well, yeah. We’re one of the top ranked sides in the hat, so we could do without getting beat by someone like Northwich Victoria again and being completely demoralised by it if the result doesn’t go our way.

Promotion chasing league 2 v Mid table league 1 has upset written all over it.
