Well, at least the BBC got some viewers for the 1st half.
    Why choose Liverpool v Accrington?

It's a dull draw, with hardly any interesting games, so can see the attraction of picking " the milk advert" game.

The Liverpool reserves with Trent AA as Captain won in a canter 4-0 against Accrington Stanley while being packed with young players including 16 year old Rio Ngumoha* and the forgotten Italian forward Chiesa came on as a sub.

    Good pay day for Stanley.

    * Came from the Chelsea conveyor belt of young players last year.

Plymouth winning at Brentford with a few minutes left. Feels a bit underwhelming as far as upsets go though!

I don't think I've seen so many high scoring games in the 3rd round, although slightly tempered with the fact that many of the Premier League sides were at home.

    Man city hit 8
    Leicester hit 6
    Bournemouth & Chelsea hit 5
    Liverpool & Brighton hit 4

And on another note I think the way the draw is done needs to be rethinked. I noticed (and said on here) that when the 3rd round was drawn the people taking the balls our of the "hat" weren't really mixing the balls up enough. They get told to "give the balls a stir" and all the do is swirl them around. You can see the balls just moving around the bowl without really changing places. It actually needs a hand (or two) to actually grab the balls and give them a good mix.

Iirc about half a dozen balls in the 50's all got drawn together.

Unfortunately there’s not enough Kenneth Williams photos to properly reply to this post.

So if golfie's ball theory is correct we'll draw Chelsea or Wolves, if not Liverpool or Blackburn.

The most boring ties on that board, if we win, are away to Exeter, away to Wycombe, or home to the winner of Mansfield Vs Wigan, so that's who we'll get.

If we lose, Preston will be drawn away to Liverpool, Everton or the winner of Tamworth and Spuds

Frictionless spheres are placed in a velvet bag, which is shaken. Those frictionless spheres are then poured into a big perspex bowl, and are swirled around multiple times. To add to the randomness two individuals that can't see the balls plunge their hands into different parts of the perspex bowl and select balls at random from a multitude of options. Coincidences happen - The draw is statistically and wholly random.

Expect the spanners to get another home draw or a game inside London.

I would like us to get a home draw against  a middling prem club - Fulham, Wolves, or Brighton maybe. If not a home draw against a championship side (not the spanners).
I know we've got to beat PNE first but I like to dream and think we can if we keep up our current recent form.

If it’s Premier League teams that have instigated the decision to have no replays, then any non-Premier league team drawn against them should be allowed to decide whether that game is home or away.

I know it’s always been there, but the gulf between the Premier League and everyone else seems larger than ever.

A bit surprised Sheffield Utd only got 6,000 at Bramall Lane for their match against Cardiff. Obviously ties with teams in your league are less exciting and they only played Cardiff in the league a few weeks ago, but still.

Due to no replays anymore, what’s the chances of BBC or ITV picking a rescheduled game to show Tuesday night?

I hadn't realised that the Tamworth captain is the brother of former Kent cricketer Matt Milnes

Oh and it's 'rethought' not rethinked.
