Millwall win please. Whatever the rivalry with Millwall at least they’re a proper club.
Palace though. They will be unbearable if they do well.

If they win the game they’ve got a much better chance of going on to win the cup. We’ll probably go out in the quarters or semis. Surely you’ll all be behind the lions?
A bore draw, extra time and penalties (with injuries all around) after all of that, possibly.

"If you were 2 inches in your mom, and your dad was 2 inches in you. Would you go forward to get your dad out of you or go backward to get out of your mom?"
Wasnt this in the Crawley programme in December?
  • Would we have faced Burnley had we beaten Preston, and then Wycombe?
    Yes.

    Southend (A) -> Walsall (A) -> Preston (A) -> Wycombe (H) -> Burnley (H) would’ve been our path to a quarter final.

Even when we get knocked out we end up with the most Charlton draw imaginable. :-)

Just watching the BBC highlights, not one team introduced so far that hasn’t made multiple changes, Newcastle 8 changes, Man City 10 changes and Leeds 10 changes etc etc.

I suspect today’s games had a lot of changes as well

The FA Cup is a joke now
Isn't the joke on Liverpool for being humbled by a team they thought they could coast past. Their exit doesn't devalue the competition for Plymouth fans. Top sides making wholesale changes is what makes it more  competitive now, giving hope to more teams, which I don't mind, although it's ironic that the holders are the ones responsible for devaluing it in the first place.

But the top sides making wholesale changes surely tells you where their priorities lie?
  • Stuck between a rock and a hard place over who we want to win that potential tie🤔 Hopefully Donny can beat them tonight🤞🤞🤞🤞

Gotta go with millllllllllllllllllllllll, no contest.
  • Enough good teams for the eagles to lose to in the next round , the scum will get Burnley or Preston at home and fluke it and end up with Exeter in the semi
come on the Croydon geeks, the scum deserve nothing

Yep, for the reasons you've stated. Don't be too flattered by our support though. It's basically the footballing version of this quandary:

"If you were 2 inches in your mom, and your dad was 2 inches in you. Would you go forward to get your dad out of you or go backward to get out of your mom?"

    WTF?
Was a question that went round twitter a while back, not my own invention!

    https://x.com/DShurey/status/1574078074911690752?t=0kGs8ld9pZX6VvruOhwTCA&s=19
I think if I had ever seen that question myself it would be swiftly erased from my mind and would never see the light of day again. Each to their own though lol

At least one of them will be out - can you imagine if they hadn't drawn each other, and both got through? 😧

It really pleases me that there are still so many clubs that have never won a major trophy.

[Just woke up to the news of the draw. Apols for starting a superfluous thread. But the horror!]

  • The cup will almost certainly be won by a premier league club.
So on that basis I want Millwall to beat Palace just to make sure it can't be them.
    That's my thinking too.

For all those who think the semi-finals shouldn't be at Wembley, are you not jealous that one of those small clubs could have a day put there instead of Villa Park?

Agreed … plus I could never bring myself to wanting a Palaaarse win

Agreed, in a off game I could see Palace beating any of the other PL sides, especially as they'll be safe from relegation and can concentrate on the Cup whereas the other teams have European games or Champions League places to concentrate on.
  • The 2 south london clubs who haven't won anything derby - potentially a lot at stake  :D

My thoughts as well although City could be out of Europe quite soon, the FA Cup would then be their only chance of silverware this season
  • Hopefully a dull game with both sides picking up season ending injuries to all their key players. Palace score in the last minute, mass pretend violence, bouncing, gesturing and throat slitting signs  erupt behind a line of disinterested stewards. The ground is closed for the remainder of the season, as is the new den, as the 'hold me backathon' reaches ridiculous proportions and is deemed an embarrassment to English football fans as it goes viral for hilarity purposes. A meeting is held the following season to settle tensions. A proposal to construct a maginot line around the penge/sydenham / brockley type area is made but on checking the addresses of the season ticket holders of each club, they decide to build it in the orpington area.  A gaza strip type camp suggested for clacketts service station or poll hill garden centre.

Got bored halfway through. Can you summarise?
  • There is no way on gods earth that Millwall will win the cup.
    Palace however are a worry.
No title, europe or relegation to worry about, they can afford to chuck everything at it.
With the top clubs resting players they are a real outside bet.
Therefore I shall be hoping that the spanners will do us a favour.
Maybe their fans can intimidate Palace into a gibbering bunch of defeated wrecks.
    (Nah, 50 years too late)

Yes, no problem  - i'd like millwall to lose just that bit more and this south london is ours thing palace bang on about is a nonsense as most of their fans live in the outer suburbs - as do yours

In all honesty this is beyond page 44 (so not concerned about it). Having said that whoever wins (the other gets knocked out to Preston/Burnley next round). Thankfully this tie is happening in the 5th round not a Wembley semi (can't go through another year of look at our pretty Europa League flag cup).
