This is the sort of game we usually win, but I just don't see it happening tomorrow unfortunately
  • Tues night left the feeling this will another lower midtable season but with even worse football than last season. There was hope but now down in 13th I think that is where we will plod. I think even if we had the money Brum have spent we would still be midtable. Even with our budget we underachieve our league position.
We rarely beat poor Brum teams so I doubt we will lay a glove on this one. 1-0 to Brum, guess who scores.

Alfie May 7/5 anytime scorer with Bob's lot.
11/5 to score and win with willhill.
15/2 to score 2 or more.
    28/1 the hat-trick
  • I don’t think we are gonna win this one…1-3

    Godden if he starts,May 2,Stansfield 1

dream would be winning 3-1 Leaburn,Chuks,May (og) & who cares which of them gets their consulation 🤗
  • I also will be there , also a supporter since 1966. I’ve seen enough Charlton games to know a Win isn’t impossible. Unlikely but not impossible. As someone once said, football is a funny old game.
So if we win 1-0 I won’t be surprised but equally a 1-2 loss wouldn’t surprise me either ! What will be unacceptable though is a lack of fight & not busting a gut to win every ball . I don’t expect that to happen tomorrow, so I’m expecting a closer game than many think.
  • Anything other than a humiliation will feel like a win ... but I can't see it  :(

  • Going 4-0

Ahadme hat trick and Coventry direct from a corner, accidental obviously.

May to miss sky 2 penalty's
  • Ahadme should not start
  • Brum win, Alfie to score any time.. its like buying money.

Very clearly in the minority but I just have a weird feeling that we’re going to beat them. They’ve won 7 on the spin and are likely to run away with the league, they’ll also strengthen in January further, but this is a type of game we are likely to turn up for.

Players also know losing 3 on the bounce for us is not acceptable and they’re going to be right up for it to put it right.

We might get outclassed and outplayed at times, but I am sure that we aren’t going to get outfought in this one.

Think we’ll be the first team to beat them in the league this season.
    Well said that man.
  • I don't really get this "got a sneaky feeling we'll win this" viewpoint.
Based on some ironic reaction to being overwhelming favourites to lose?
We are at present utterly inept as an attacking unit, relying for the most part the late arrival of "big guns" to dig us out of a hole.
I do think the players will raise their game for this one, but I expect Brums greater class to tell.
I am clinging into the hope that we are still a work in progress and not a team in free fall
NJ has all the passion and desire to succeed, but is that enough? We simply do not look "tough enough" and even moderate teams have overrun us in the last few games. We do not dominate games or create enough in the final third.

It does now look a really dumb decision to sell Alfie [even if he did want to go] and I am not sure they made enough effort to keep him. The forward players NJ has chosen are not good enough on showings to date and the midfield has no real "bite" or creativity.

Ahadme is simply not good enough - how much did he cost ?

  • Start with the most experienced XI we can put out and I fancy us to get a draw
  • We're 3/1 today just to win a home game in league one.

We have been dreadful past few weeks but I don’t think anyone can expect us to beat a team who just spent 35m and already had a championship squad.
  • Ahadme should not start
He ain't gonna get his hat trick if he don't start, John mate
  • I imagine I will sit slumped shoulders hunched chin on chest silently enduring the game having all hope dashed after a few minutes.
    I hope I am wrong.
  • Apart from Tuesday's result, the obvious real worry is that we were pretty much outclassed by a team near the bottom of the table .. Win, lose or draw today what I will be looking for is a far better  organised team put out by the manager allied to a proper fighting spirit from the team irrespective of who plays and what position they are asked (told?) to play.
As I said well up the page(s), it's time to ditch the 3 5 2 and try a simpler 4 3 3 or even 4 4 2. I KNOW though this won't happen as I suspect that Jones is a one strategy manager
Whatever .. come on you Addicksssaaa !!!!

I feel you are right, and I'm still undecided about going.

A few minutes of hope at the start of the game seems wildly optimistic.

Nathan Jones will play 5-3-2 today and try to emulate the way we played against Wigan in game 1.
If Birmingham score first which is favourite then gaps will appear in the cafc defense as we decide to attack around the 65th minute with two forwards replacing the two forwards that started but failed because of no decent service. The CAFC wing backs will start to get into the Brum half and 5-3-2 will revert to 3-5-2 but the blues will utilize the space behind the full backs and score again.

Glossary: Attack is when players utilise the space on the flanks and play on the front foot and attempt to get in and around the opposition box with sharp passes and player movement and pepper the goal with shots.
    ( No shit Sherlock)

Massive game today to judge if after 10 games, Charlton are more than a mid table Mediocre League 1 team yet again.

    The omens are not positive.
  • Would love to see us set up in a 4-4-2 diamond formation. We have the players for it and Birningham play a single striker.

  • From what I can see on here, no-one will be there tomorrow apart from me and 5k Gobby Brummies... 🙄
    Unfortunately I'll be there.
    It's what I've  been doing since 1966.

Why the fuck did my late uncle support Charlton instead of Arsenal or Man utd or whatever.
I blame my late uncle as well!

I loved him dearly, but he did cost me a fortune in match tickets and grief being an Addick!
