For some reason there seems to me that more than often crossing the ball into the goal mouth often hits the first defender as the ball doesn’t really leave the ground. Very frustrating when the box is piled with tall attackers.
I’ve never really noticed it before but could this be down to the type of football boots (plimsoles with studs) now worn by the modern footballers or just incompetence?
