We've got to be better than some of the stuff on here over the past few days. I'm not digging anyone out because I was frustrated as well. But talk of 'losing the dressing room', some (very few) strong posts about NJ pissing off pronto, etc. the guy is clearly a very good manager at this level. Let's have some faith.

As one of the people who was critical (I thought reasonably, opinions may differ) but hands up he did a good job today. However I would have to point out that he did well by specifically addressing/changing things that people were actually critical of.

He dropped the 352 that he seemed absolutely obsessed with... and it worked.

He didn't go with a big guy up front to try and bully/grind down defences, we actually attacked with passing/pressing football... and it worked.

The players went from looking half hearted and milquetoast to actually busting a gut in the pressing.... and it worked.

All things that people were criticising about those previous games. Yes he does get credit and deservedly for addressing them but it does show that maybe a lot of the criticism was ALSO warranted (but not the abuse or the few calling for him being sacked which was way overboard.)

I was one of those who thought it looked like he'd maybe lost the dressing room. I never criticised him as such, and definitely never called for him to be axed—just made the observation that, going by his and some of the player body language, (when getting subbed or at full-time) it was a possibility. Changed my mind after the Godden interview post Bristol Rovers. As ever though, if you can't discuss that type of thing on here, where can you discuss it?

The manager is best placed to decide team and tactics working with players day in day out. It's his call, his arse on the line. I trust his judgement more than fans posting on a forum, who seldom all agree anyway.

As for those accusing him of being overly sensitive, they should look in the mirror. Some get easily riled at the first hint of fan critisism and get very defensive.

    In Jones I trust.

Maybe fans shouldn't talk about football or air their views on a football forum right or wrong. Maybe we should stick to politics......er....maybe not. Gribbo hit the nail on the head. Jones is passionate, great. If he wins games, he can be what he likes. If he is going to lose to shite like Bristol Rovers he will get stick. Indeed fans were not liking the team he picked before the game and he apologised and said he had got it wrong after the game! It is in the job description for any manager. He may take it personally because he thinks he is a great manager and he has a big ego. Nothing wrong with that if he wins games. To be fair, they are the sort who generally do.

I think it has taken a bit of time for the coaching team to get used to Paul Hart not being around and that may have fed into the 3-game losing streak. No intel on this just a guess given it did seem NJ leaned on Paul a lot and his experience would undoubtedly be missed after his retirement. NJ seemed to indicate he's learned a lot about his coaching team over the last couple of weeks so hopefully after the loss of Paul things have stabilised behind the scenes. With the weekends fantastic result, we can all look up and kick on. Still only 6 points off the top so a good start to the season. Cheers all.
