The great Dutch footballer of the 70s has died aged 73. Terrific player alongside Cruyff in that classic Netherlands team of that era. RIP

More skill in his little toe than most players playing football today.

That Holland team were so cool and Neeskens was the coolest. Loved the way he used to lash home his penalties.

Part of the fabulous Dutch World Cup sides of 74 and 78 that introduced total football to the World. A game changer in the literal sense.

When I think of the Dutch side of the 70s it's Cruyff, Neeskens, Rep that spring to mind (same as Gullit, Reykard and Van Basten in the 80s) - and to speak of Neeskens in the same light as Cruyff says just how good he was. It's a tragedy that that 70s side didn't win a World Cup, probably deserved two. They changed the game forever and football truly became the beautiful game. What a legacy, Johan - Rest in Peace.3

The reason I watch football is due to the Netherlands football team in the 1970s. RIP1

He was outstanding, even amongst that Dutch team of the 70's. Was he in charge of NEC Nijmegen when we played them in a friendly, early 00's?0
