The way the league is this year, 2nd place is up for grabs. I don’t think we’ve shown so far that we are good enough to take it, but if we can get 3 good results this week against promotion candidates then we might be
The Birmingham win needs to be the start of something, rather than a good one off win
Be very surprised if either Mitchell or Leaburn start. Think Berry will come back in with A Campbell dropping deeper next to Docherty. Hope we stick with the 442, probably with Godden and T Campbell starting up top.
Think its going to be an interesting line up this weekend.
Wont be surprised if we go back to a 3-5-2, as the Birmingham formation was very much designed to suffocate their playmakers. Question how it would work against other opposition - Going back to a three man midfield with Docherty - Anderson - A.Campbell would be an "easy" way to deal with Coventry's absence, but would be concerned to see that, as none have the passing of Coventry.
Why would we go back to a system That wasn’t working ?
Because there is the possibility that the system we deployed against Birmingham wasn't anything more than a system put into place to deal with their strengths, rather than play to our own.
Back to 3 at the back and lump it up to big Gas doesn’t appeal
Expect TC & Godden up front, possibly a chance Dixon makes the bench if NJ wants 3 strikers on the bench but notable that Pat Casey didn’t play for the U21s earlier in the week.
Think playing Z Mitchell would be very interesting as then we can naturally change between formations without any subs.
The key to stopping Stockport is stopping Barry, he’s a great player for this level
What worries me a bit is that Stockport may not go out trying to beat us in the same way Birmingham did. I am not convinced we have cracked this approach.

I think they will, they’re one of the best teams in the league and usually have more of the ball than their opponents. If we had Coventry available I’d be pretty confident we’d win, as we suit playing that kind of team

Always makes me wonder the term "One of the best" whatever, it's a very open ended quotation and needs quantifying, we are very much one of the top six teams in this league imo, and more than capable of winning today without Coventry...tough match, but one we will come out on top...

Has top spot already been taken then? No, it hasn't. It's still up for grabs. You don't get promoted in October. Long way to go yet.
Honestly I have no clue on this result hopefully we have the confidence to build on the Birmingham result but this is us so half expecting a drab performance
Hope it's not misplaced but feeling confident. I'd go with the previewers starting line up and think Mitchell will get the nod if we go 4-4-2. Think Miles will start.
First time going to the valley since I’ve moved to Manchester and I’m running late. Is tube from Euston to Bridge and then overground to Charlton the quickest way? Google isn’t working on the train and the trainline app is telling me to travel via Outer Mongolia, so any help appreciated.
I can't make it today as annoyingly missus has booked my boys birthday party at 4pm today.
Therefore guarantees a huge win and a performance that will go down in Charlton folklore before I return to witness us grind out dull nil nil v Wrexham.
2-1 win. Think we will come back from being 1-0 down. Not expecting it to be a high quality game, but will just be two sides trying to force the other teams into mistakes.
they have done well since their release from the NL dungeon .. should be a win for us .. keep the 4 4 2/4 2 2 2 Nathan, we need to establish a set pattern of play and keep to it

Lloyd Jones CF........ its all up for grabs
2-0 win either way, but formation and personnel will decide whether it's a clunky bore fest or a more polished performance.
Godden + A. Campbell goal scorers.
Would love Godden to grab one, however messy.
