Ice Cold in Alex Dambusters Battle of Britain Tora, Tora, Tora 12 O’Clock High
Band of Brothers: the outstanding TV series depicting ground combat.
Special mentions: Das Boot and Stalingrad for German productions…Letters from Iwo Jima giving a Japanese perspective.
And one from left field: Attack, a 1950’s movie starring Jack Palance and Lee Marvin with Eddie Albert (a real war hero) playing an ambitious but cowardly company commander.
Looking forward to someone coming out with how most WW2 war films don't portray the Germans in the correct light, or the impact of troops from the colonies/commonwealth - so basically we're all racist.
Not a film but war books by Hans Hellman Kirst try to portray the psyche of the of the ordinary German quite well..
Sink the Bismark In which we serve Went the day well Battle of Britain A bridge too far
Special mention. The Imitation game
The destroyer copping it during the harrying of the crippled Bismark, something that didn’t happen, ruins Sink the Bismark for me. A shame, as otherwise it’s good.

Did not know that, thanks for sharing.
The only ships lost were Hood and Bismarck. Prince of Wales was damaged but that’s it. Bismarck didn’t hit KG5 or Rodney once whilst they pounded her into a floating wreck.

Did HMS Norfolk shadow Bismark, through the Iceland gap? (Or Suffolk?).
