My favorite Charlton Manager and player. All that needs to be said.
  • Top man. So well deserved for his total contribution to our game.

Would love to see him back at Charlton one day. He is family.

  • Delighted for the man (because he's just brilliant), even if I'm not a fan of the Honours system.
  • One of my Charlton heroes. What a guy. what a player

Not before time, an example to everyone, a proper professional while still acting as a gentleman and family man

No truth in the rumour that Princess Anne bowed when Powell turned up

A smile as wide as the Blackwall.  Proud moment for the Powell family.

a fabulous man and what he did in building that team in just one summer window must go down as one of the greatest pieces of football management of all time - i wouldn't be surprised to see him back at the valley some time
every year we've attempted re builds and nothing has come even close to that season , it was a miracle and we wont ever accomplish that again , Sir Chris our chosen One , the miracle worker
I love Chris as much as the next Charlton fan but he was given the funds to do it , which I’d argue nobody else has since .  That of course only lasted that one summer and he was promptly given nothing and then less than nothing to work with .

A truly gifted footballer and a brilliant man.  The pride on his face in the photos sums him up.

Other managers since Powell have been given summer funds, they just weren't as smart as Powell.

I don't know how much we spent on fees in summer 2011 with the 15 or so players coming in, but we did receive a £1m for Jenkinson, so that would have helped. After Powell, we spent millions on fees with players that didn't suit English football or who were just crap.
