    I love Chris as much as the next Charlton fan but he was given the funds to do it , which I’d argue nobody else has since .  That of course only lasted that one summer and he was promptly given nothing and then less than nothing to work with .

    Other managers since Powell have been given summer funds, they just weren't as smart as Powell. 

    I don't know how much we spent on fees in summer 2011 with the 15 or so players coming in, but we did receive a £1m for Jenkinson, so that would have helped. After Powell, we spent millions on fees with players that didn't suit English football or who were just crap.

    Sir Chris managed to get us within 3 points of the play offs with a 9th place finish the season after promotion when the rug had been pulled from him finance wise
