How they get that to work like that , I turn a fucking light switch on in my house and a telly turns off , half the poxy lights are on strike with intermittent action every so often .
Using something like a DALI lighting control system. Each light is addressable and can receive commands from the application control system.

Well said. A load of soccer sh*t. Am I ‘outraged’? Not really. But I don’t want this plastic yank rubbish at the Den. Same with drums and ‘ultras’. All so contrived. I don’t know about you lot but I quite like British terrace culture as it is. Does it produce the best atmosphere? Not always, but at least when it does it’s a real one and not artificial.
And goal music.
I was on the concourse so missed it. If I was in the stands I would’ve booed it.
We had goal music for one season but the club scrapped it because we said we didn’t want it and they listened.
You still have goal music and have had it for years, no? “Let ‘em all come down to the Den”??
No. As I said we had it for one season but it was scrapped. They play it at the final whistle if we’ve won, then straight after is rocking all over the world
Quo surprises me. I was expecting Saturday night's alright for fighting.
Can't understand the thinking by the club here. This sort of shit doesn't appeal to their fanbase. Much of the floating support they get I imagine e.g. Polish builders and groups of male tourists largely probably go because of the club it is and its DNA.
If they are trying to attract to Americanised- type sports fans or appeal to local middle class types or modern day foam handers etc then that will undo the whole culture of the club and alienate their core fanbase.
So it is probably just a one off cash grab deal with the lighting suppliers who themselves have now got national publicity from all the attention so money well spent from the company' side. But a poor decision from the Millwall management as it is completely anti Millwall in the same way our club running a 'free lines and brasses before 2pm" in the West Stand khazis would go down at ours (I think this would have likely been an eventuality on Meire's list of marketing initiatives).
I hate all this nonsense when it's rolled out at Charlton as do many but then our fanbase is different and less homogenous comparatively and many don't mind it, are agnostic or even, in the case of those perverts and weirdos in our fanbase who become Charlton fans because they live just that little bit too far away from Selhurst even lap it up... so I can understand why we end up with nonsense like, pitch side settees, half n half scarves, pre match gay choirs and other such out of touch alien concepts at an historically working class South East London football arena.
I can understand the disdain from Millwall fans. One one hand it's a tacky marketing gimmick which the clubs earnt a few quid from where they've just misread the room and thought it was worth the money. Whilst on the other hand it is just another nail in the coffin of traditional football and what it means to the heartbeat and fanbase of clubs like ours and Millwall in the same way many old school fans of clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea must look round at their local club and wonder what the hell has happened in the last 30 years as they pay £80 to get a view of the pitch amid day trippers and half and half scarfers taking selfies punctuated by goal music and half time wicker picnic baskets* (*this happened at Arsenal).
Yes the game moves on and whilst I love taking my boy and girl to sit and have a rant in the Covered End and welcome the fact that we're not likely gonna get stabbed in there like we might have done in the ,more 'authentic good ol' days of the 70s and 80s etc I still can understand why people feel irked and get the camel when club owners (who 9 out of 10 times these days) know sweet fa about the clubs/ areas/ fanbase rock up and then try to change the ethos with their 'vision' which is usually vastly at odds of the way the majority fans see it.
TLDR: probably not a big deal in the greater scheme of things but Millwall fans have a point.

I've been on jobs which have had that but with multiple colours on the façade by a main road.
Funny enough turning on something that could induce an epileptic fit was deamed as a distraction to drivers and it was just left as white. 5 figures down the drain.

It wasn’t a club decision by all accounts. Something to do with the contract we have with the firm who sort our lighting out. Apparently we’re contractually obliged to put it on three times a season 🤷🏻

The club signed the contract, so they could've done something about it before they signed it. So it was a decision the club made.
Seriously, who is watching these unboxing videos? Where is the value? Imagine if people put all that energy into something useful, like learning a second language or becoming really good at something.

Great post btw. Brasses and free lines in the bogs? I like the sound of that
I don’t really have a reasonable answer except I wanted it because it was for sale and I like a gadget. I have Philips Hue lights in various parts of my home but in my main living room I have wall, ceiling, strip and stand lamps. It’s nice to have them all colour matched and to particular colour shade. With the sync box the lighting matches the tv, it’s immersive, apparently. A bit pointless but I do like a box of tricks.

Shame the spanners didn’t take their light show down to Pompey tonight. Floodlight failure. Not look for sparky would did this work, I’ll just take this plug out.

Probably love musicals.
