Not as bad as Curbishly. Our draw against Dagenham at the Valley all those years ago.

Conceding 3 goals against non-league opposition with a first choice team out is
certainly something. Still, at least Bonne didn’t score eh!
They're deflections though and a penalty so they don't count.
    No one said that.

Defending hasn’t been good enough and ALSO Southend have got a lot of luck to convert, both can be true at the same time. Mannion’s had no chance with all of them.
We had more than enough chances to get rid of the ball for the 3rd before the deflection takes place.

I don't really care about Mannion in particular, wouldn't say he's at major fault for any. But it's clear he's a #2 keeper we're stuck with because we couldn't sign better.
I agree with you on both points.

Southend have a reputation for not being able to score. And we’ve seen today that despite our poor defensive performance, they still required two big deflections. Otherwise this game would’ve been done in 90 minutes.

Not convincing by the sounds of things but there is a lot of bad luck involved here too, which seems to be par for the course for Charlton Athletic.
    You make your own luck.

Being this poor defensively leads to these things occuring more frequently. Lots of bodies in the box and giving the opposition time with the ball will more likely lead to deflections taking place.

Can't just shrug your shoulders and say luck when it happens as often as it does.

Oh for goodness sake, I left it till 5 o'clock for safety and turned over to BBC1 just to hear Charlotte Richardson say that we'd gone into extra time. Those of you listening to the commentary you have my sympathies
I couldn't listen to the commentary with Brownie's verbal diarrhea

We ain't going up so it gives us something to look forward to.
  • If Dixon does have PCR to burn then he needs to be on the pitch because there is going to be a lot of tired legs out there

It is good to give the younger players like Hylton and Docherty some minutes and experience đŸ„Ž

Yeah again I agree we invite problems lately. Still would say that conceding three times in two games in this manner is a bit bizarre for any team of any quality at any level.

If you don’t buy a ticket you can’t win the lottery , give these punters an opportunity to shoot and they will , we score the same goals and it’ll be ‘oh he earned the right to shoot and it was on target the defender isn’t close enough and you make your own luck and you get what you deserve’

On the Charlton TV stream, I've heard both Charlotte Richardson and Louis Mendez in the background.
    What were they doing?!

So... Who are our five penalty takers going to be?
    Tyler Taylor
    Kerry Anderson
    Tyler Berry

Won’t need anymore as Mannion the best goalkeeper since sliced bread will save the other 3.
Not 100% sure that sliced bread is that good a shot stopper (even the full pan)...
    Mannion is toast?  :/

Chin up. We're making good progress in the cup that really counts, the Bristol Street Motors trophy.

    Even lose that.

Expect to lose the cricket as well

Expect a hat trick of disappointments.
  • I've got a small feeling... that we're not winning the FA Cup this season

13 mins or so into ET and no tweets from the club or Louis Mendez, doesn’t sound a classic

  • Sounds like we've just had a Godden effort cleared off the line
