Best we can hope for is a point in my opinion, can see a 1-0 loss coming though.

In the light of our injuries - particularly to Jones, Ramsey and Campbell - I'd be happy with a point.

Given the lack of flair and ball carriers in midfield, I'd like to accommodate Small on the left but I expect he'll be on the bench as Jones seeks to stifle Exeter.

    Good preview as per.

I too feel Leaburn and Godden will have enough to cause them problems. The issue instead is getting the ball to them in dangerous areas.

We have a serious lack of pace in the team without TC, so I would like to see Small involved a bit more and even maybe Dixon on the bench, but the latter won’t happen at least.

Exeter play a 3-4-2-1 formation meaning they too could have a box in midfield if their two behind the striker, likely Magennis, drop into central areas.

I don’t think NJ knows what’s best for us at right back with Ramsay and Watson out, we’ve had 5 different players play there so far this season already, in all competitions, that’s astounding by the start of November.

I do though feel despite the poor performance and late goals we have been conceding, the last gasp winner at Southend might have done the squad’s confidence a little boost it needed.

There is only so many times NJ can say about the basics and if they do not improve this weekend, I fully anticipate there will be quite some change in personnel thereafter and in January.

A win on the road means we must score first. Failure to score first and the best we will do is a draw.

    We get the first goal.

    Exeter 1-2 Charlton
    Godden
    Leaburn

Feels like a defining point in our season for me.  Mad I know, lose this and I think it’ll confirm that we are once again, as feared, a bang average league one side.  Win, it’s not the type of game we win in recent years, then you feel we’ve just been on a bad run and can get back to challenging.

The lack of confidence is interesting, as I also feel the same, yet in our last 7 vs these we are undefeated and won 6 of them.

Curious to see how Tristan Crama gets on today, meant to be a very decent player, on loan centre back from Brentford.

I'm gonna say we surprise ourselves today and win 3-1. Safe travels all.

    1-2 Charlton

    The awful football continues.

We score early with that usual pressure we bring it then degenerates into drab poor quality football.

they equalise and we get lucky on the 73rd minute.

    We win, it's depressing.

Very short notice, but I unfortunately can't go to the Exeter game anymore.

If anyone lives near Ashford and wants a ticket, let me know. I have an adult and an under18

Time to give AMB a go in goal IMO

Yes you can say it was only Chelsea u21s but he made some great saves that game then was dropped again v Southend and Mannion made yet another mistake, he has been making to many mistakes lately. Put Ash in and see if he does well enough to keep the shirt worst cast scenario your telling Mannion he needs to up his game, cos ATM he probably thinks he is undroppable no matter how many mistakes he makes

The problem is that without Jones, if ASH stays rooted to the goalline as per, we will give the opposition free reign in the penalty area.

    Looking forward to this.
Expecting a 0-2 win to lift the gloom.
15 minute walk from town. Lovely.
  • Regretfully not going today, as it's a great City and a nice ground. I'm expecting a close game, 1-1 probably.

No idea how we will do today but for me it's more to do with this month's results rather than just today. There used to be a thread covering the new month & predictions for those matches, but seems not this season.

As it stands we have some big games this month. Games against teams directly above & below us and another (Huddersfield) only a couple of places & points above us. Then we also have a game against the bottom side who cant win for toffee. Win most and we will almost certainly be in the top 6. Only pick up 1 win and a few draws & we will be dropping further down the table. As I say.....big month.

FWIW......I expect more of the same. A win, a defeat & a few draws and we will still be around 12th and still thinking...." only a few points off 6th.....string a run of wins together, strengthen in January and with a bit of luck blah blah blah ".

Its the hope that kills you.

    Ditto, killerandflash.

We had a smashing weekend there last season but Mr F's recent diabetes diagnosis means we made the decision to watch via the stream today although plan to get to the closer away  games.

Well done to those making the journey and please give the lads a big shout from Fanny.
  • Missing this one for the first time in years, as I'm undergoing radiotherapy for prostate cancer. Not seen us lose there, though always close affairs. Going for 1-0 to us, Leaburn with his first league goal of the season.

Don’t fancy us to win, possibly a scrappy 1-1 like last season.

I appreciate Jones doesn’t believe in balance but this is the best I can do .

Gilly has to play..he proved what a good defender he is v Wrexham MOM... You clearly did not see Z Mitchell v Southend

I have a strange feeling this will be another game where we don't look up for it and don't do the basics.

Supporter since 1957 but only from afar now.Embarrassing how we are now compared to Millwall. They lie 6th in the Champ. with 14 points from last 18. We are 12th in L1 with 6 from last 18. And Millwall are one of the lowest spenders in the Champ. Neil Harris a proper manager - sorry  but Nathan Jones is not. Harris would not put up with half fit players such as Aneke. Why Jones does only he knows.

If we have any ambitions for promotion this season then this is the type of game we should be looking to win.

    So a draw then.
