Who knew that we had so many superstitious fans? Yes we aren't in a great position ourselves but what's wrong with a bit of escapism from our plight? Each and every match they lose should be a celebration. Not a little mention, here and there, buried in another thread and hidden from the world.
If they will stay up it will be because they managed to get enough points. Not because of this thread. And one day they will go down whether it is this season, next season or any season in the future. So let's rejoice in each and every match they lose. And then have a party if and when they are relegated. Those that don't want to "tempt fate" should ignore the thread. Unless, of course, the fear really is that it only takes one Charlton fan to mention the "R" word and they suddenly become safe!
It's as much about them losing those battles along the way as it is about finally being defeated in the war. You're either here for all of that journey or not at all and end of season party invites will be strictly given to those that have been there for the duration. Not gatecrashers and aftertimers.
So, here we go. One win, just eight goals scored and a centre back who is not only their rock but virtually their top scorer and who might be thinking of pastures knew even if they are relegated or suspended or even injured at some point. Next six games - Villa (A), Newcastle (H), Ipswich (A), City (H), Brigthon (A) and Arsenal (H). Could they have a harder run?
Glasner will pin this onto the dressing room wall, inspiring the Palace players to go on a run of 10 wins making them surge into the Champions League places.
Fortunately Keith from Wallington will start an "HMS Piss the League" thread on Nigels Life, causing them to slide back down to 14th.
They seem to have fallen into this rinse and repeat pattern of employing an expansive style manager, then when it's going tits up bringing in a Pulis, Woy, Warnock, Red Adair to save their bacon. They were going to be doomed when Zaha went, but no. Then Olise and Ayew. I think they will bumble on and always find 3 dogshite teams below them. So whilst I will always enjoy them losing and struggling, there will be no relegation thread from me. And publicly gloating whilst we support a third division train wreck enjoying the worst period in it's history just seems remarkably stupid to me.
Given how you lot seem to think the universe works, I am surprised we don't have daily "I will never win the lottery" threads on here.
As for the question, we have as much hope as ever here. Although there was that year where they broke the world record for not scoring a goal or something, and still ended up mid-table.
They just dropped into the relegation zone going into an international break, so it's slightly surprising they haven't sacked him this week. Southampton and Ipswich are looking like they will take up two spaces, but the third is really up for grabs and honestly, I think Palace are the worst of the lot.
Wolves have some very good players and had an extremely tough opening quarter. And in Cunha they have one of the best goalscorers in the division. So we're relying on Everton, West Ham and Leicester to not fuck this up.
Would absolutely be delighted if they were relegated. Especially this season as the Championship next year will have a Birmingham team who will spend again to provide proper competition to the relegated sides.
Don't see it though. There are 3 worse teams.
Maybe if Southampton sack their manager and get someone in who knows how to defend.
But even then, when Wharton and Eze are back, Palace have enough about themselves.
Don't. It will get deleted, and you'll get abuse in case it doesn't happen.
Didn’t you post a Millwall relegation thread about 6 weeks ago? They’ve won every game since to the surprise of no one else.
I remember Neil Harris saying in his post match interview after the first win "Well I changed some things tactically, but none of it worked. What actually happened is, some guy I don't know posted some words on a forum I've never heard and that meant we scored more goals."

Sometimes you just can’t explain how these things work. Like when I’m watching football indoors it doesn’t matter how boring a game is, as soon as I walk out the room the ball is in the net within 10 seconds.
Plus when watching cricket I can watch for hours without a wicket falling, but as soon as I step out the room someone’s out.

No I didn't. I posted a Charlton countdown to promotion thread at the end of August, after our great start to the season..... the watertight defence. I got a load of shite comments and it got closed down.

We've been shit ever since.
We've been shit since you started the thread, not since it was closed down

We'd beaten Bolton 2-0 when I started the thread on the 24th August.
Thread was closed on 27th August.
We then lost our next game at Reading on 31st August.... and so on.
So whilst Charlton may not get a promote. Maybe I should.

Looking forward to that abuse!

What happened to "past performance is no guarantee of future results" ???
