A long-term museum project is to digitise and catalogue the Tom Morris photo archive - 80,000 - 100,000 Charlton photos we reckon.

Many of the player/action shots will be familiar to many, but often not seen/published before will be pictures of fans.  From time to time I'll post one or two.  So, starting from that special day on 5th December 1992, who recognises themselves among this gathering?:

Looking from some of those thunderous faces I'd have said more like away to Bristol Rovers this season or something like that.

I know and few of the lads in this photo, I'm far right standing up in Black.
  • We had season tickets so when that game came around we naturally opted to go in the Covered End. Presumably, those in that picture wouldn’t necessarily have chosen the away end if they had a similar priority. What was the criteria order for qualifying for a ticket that day, anyone remember ?
  • We had our season tickets for that season in the Jimmy Seed which was split between home and away.

Were those season tickets you already had for Upton park or ones bought for the return to the valley  ?
  • went everywhere during the 90's, so would have been season tickets we had from Upton Park, but may be elected for the South Stand so we could be seated near each other at a guess.

Jimmy Seed was only split from the start of the following season.  For the 92/93 season the away fans were in the temporary West stand.

I followed Charlton to Selhurst and Upton Park without ever getting a season ticket.  However enrolling my two boys into the junior reds was enough to secure three tickets in the Jimmy Seed stand.
