Does anyone here use cricinfo to follow Kents progress in the Country championship games? Looks like they have got rid of the ball by ball commentary.
Think that’s because we’ve dropped to Div 2 but could be wrong
Doesn't appear to be there for Div 1 games either. The Kent official site does "ball by ball" but that stopped after 6.3 overs! The LV site does have the facility too but that has stalled in exactly the same place so, clearly, they use the same feed.
Feel like the Twitter coverage is really poor too this season.
You'd expect batting to get easier as the game progresses, as the greenness burns off. But our top 6 are so collectively short of runs that it's hard to have any confidence in us scoring 300.
Given the number of wickets to fall on days 1 and 2 are the pitch inspectors likely to get involved and deduct points or has it been poor batting in the main? I suspect poor batting in the case of Kent given their usual first innings struggles of late.
It's a lovely afternoon. Compton will hopefully take root and occupy one end and Crawley can demonstrate the class and ability to score big that originally got him England selection.
Alternatively I'll wake up and we'll be all out by the Close.

To be fair, you'd have got astronomic odds, having lost two wickets in two balls, us not losing another one for the next 225 runs. Another game where we have out balled and out batted the opposition. Wins by 145 runs and 8 wickets confirms that.
The 2s are playing Sussex in a 4-day game starting today in a side including three spinners namely Parkinson (captain), Jaydn and the returning O'Riordan. With five seamers having playing in the first team and the likes of Dudgeon, Cohen, Garrett and Quinn all out, we are once again utilising the services of triallists Sebastian Allison and Pip Jackson to provide a seam presence along with Flintoff and Curtiss (if deemed sufficiently fit to bowl.
Kent won the toss and elected to bat and are 62-1. Dawkins went early for 4 (ironically off the bowling of his club mate at Tunbridge Wells, Ari Karvelas) but Ekansh, in particular, has been putting bat to ball with 42* off 49 whilst Jaydn is offering support at the other end with 16* (40).
Jaydn went caught at slip off the bowling of Danial Ibrahim (an all rounder who is still only 20 but who made his FC debut for Sussex at the age of 16 - on Cricinfo it lists that he played for Kent 2s but I suspect that was a joint venture team as is sometimes played when counties are struggling to put out sides) virtually as soon as I finished typing.
Cohen had a run out in the field on Saturday, not sure how much time he spent out there but good to see him on the grass
He might not be ready yet to play 2s although the XI that are quoted on the scorecard inevitably becomes 13/14 by the end of the game so there is still a chance that he will partake at some point.

Ibrahim is an interesting case has an FC hundred and the youngest ever 50 in the County Championship but just hasn't been able to cement his place probably not helped by the form the top 6 have been in with the bat and Fynn Hudson-Prentice/Danny Lamb fulfilling that all rounder role.
50 for Ekansh. The lad is a talent but has this habit, as a lot of players do, of giving it up when seemingly in full control. We do have to remember, though, that he is still only 18. In fact, Jaydn at 19 is the oldest of our top three and six of the side are under 20.
Anyone heard what sort of injury Keith duggeon picked up and whether it is serious ?
He is being assessed and has had a scan but, sadly, given he is only with us for the next 6/7 weeks, I would be pleasantly surprised if we see him again.

And so it proves although, in this instance he isn't out as a result of self-inflication, but caught behind off a ball from a left armer bowling across his body. Made 66 (99). For those that are interested in seeing his array of shots and aren't sure how to do this, click on "Videos" and on the dropdown entitled "All Players" click "E Singh" and then "Play All Videos". That save one from having to click on each and every individual highlight.
Of course, the one thing we have succeeded in doing is to win both our CC matches with just the one overseas player in the side which, in itself, is a massive plus and not one that many of us saw coming given our pre-season form.

I know it's a name I've brought up before and he's currently playing against Kent 2s, worth a call to Paul Farbrace to take Ari Karvelas on loan?
