  • Middlesex need 122 at tea. 243/5
  • 243-5 at tea. We need to take 4 or 5 wickets depending on the fitness of Eskinazi and Middx require 122 runs off a minimum, weather permitting, of 34 overs.
  • Presumably as a stepping stone to getting him match fit for Kent, Mikey Cohen is playing for Canterbury today in a friendly against Whitstable.
Cohen returned figures of 6-1-27-3 on Saturday with one of his victims being Freddie Fulton, the son of the former Kent captain and current batting consultant, David. Kent have a 2s game starting tomorrow so, hopefully, he will play in that and then be available for first team selection.
  • Have a horrible feeling we aren’t winning this. The Essex lad turning out to be well off the required standard means we really are short of bowlers
  • Holman 100* and Middx 268-5
  • Dang it
  • Garrett... choking
  • Absolute meltdown
  • Promotion looking hard to do with Leicestershire's start and if this is a loss. :(
  • Seem to be doing our best to lose this one.

  • At the end of the day we couldn’t have ever expected to have won with that poor first innings performance once again, hope leaning is dropped and Richards is sent back to Essex ( way way off this level required at the moment)
  • Parkinson gets the big wicket of Holman
  • 309-6 and Eskinasi returns to the crease but does not look comfortable at all and Holman will run for him. Still another 56 required.
  • Eskinasi is moving like a 90 year old and every movement he makes is seemingly massively painful for him.
  • Davies caught on the boundary by Richards off Parkinson

    312-7
  • 52 runs or 3 wickets needed in the remaining 20 overs (I very much doubt that we will bowl more than that minimum for obvious reasons)
  • Evison puts Eskinazi out of his misery by trapping him LBW

    314-8
  • The bad news is that Zafar and Roland-Jones are both more than capable batsmen.

Apart from that really poor show in the first innings, the real disappointment, for me, as much as he has been very miserly, has been Kashif Ali. To date, he has returned figures in his three matches of 5-333. Given that Dudgeon took 8-69 I can't help thinking that he might have wrapped things up today. Hopefully, Kashif will come back for one final burst and prove his worth.
  • Saw this -somersets  James Rew now has 10 first-class hundreds before this 22nd birthday. Wow

  • I can’t believe that lbw wasn’t given out, embarrassing umpiring
  • I do think that we have over-done the appealing but Middx really have been given the benefit of the doubt with one in particular just now from Kashif looking like it was smashing into the stumps.
  • Credit to Middlesex but this is a poor performance by Kent after DBD put us in a strong position!
  • Middx win by 2 wickets with just 6 balls of the game left. Gutting.
  • I still can’t quite get over some of the decisions there by the umpires, disgraceful.
  • As good a game of Championship cricket as you could get. Nothing between the teams and so many back and forth swings.
  • I still can’t quite get over some of the decisions there by the umpires, disgraceful.
Parky didn’t look out yday either, he could easily have batted 2 more overs which would have made the difference today
