  • I'm not sure if we've ever had three players 19 or under in the top five in the county championship before as is the case today.
    In fact, this is almost certainly the youngest top six - 31, 19, 18, 24, 19 & 23 = average age of 22

Actually someone has pointed out the Covid side was our youngest ever (the game Seb almost ended up playing in) but that team had Heino Kuhn in the top six and would have been older than today's.
  • Poor shot from Ekansh - the eyes lit up and he tried to hit him over the top only to be bowled by Hartley for 4 (15)

    231-5 (58.4)
  • 238-5 (64) at tea

    Evison 8* (20)
    Finch 5* (22)

Three quick wickets - Finch caught down the legside off Wells with the keeper standing up for 22 (67), Rivzi chops on for a three ball duck off the same bowler and finally Evison caught at slip off Hartley for Evison 22 (58)

    274-8 (78.3)

  • 6 wickets lost for 57 runs in total
  • Quinn, with a bit of an innings where he demonstrated that skill of knowing all the shots but not necessarily to the ball that has been delivered, is bowled for a single.

    278-9 (82)
  • This is only Mitchell Stanley's second FC game (both against us) but, such is his promise, I fully expect him to be named in the Ashes squad. Well he is tall and quick and that meets all the criteria required.

He picks up 5-80 as he has Parkinson caught behind for 12 (28)

    293 all out

    Cohen 2* (6)

Probably shoe in for the Lions squad along with Josh Hull,Sonny Baker and Sam Cook in terms of seam options.

  • 19-0 (8) at close
  • According to social media, Muyeye will have a concussion substitute. That hasn't been confirmed by Kent but it really wouldn't surprise me.

Hope he’s ok .  2 batsmen colliding mid wicket is the most Kent 2025 thing ever .

    Positives from this season:

    1) Promise shown by Denly , Ekansh and Dawkins.  I’d hope that a couple of them can cement themselves for next season in the top 6, although the batting should have decent depth.

    2) Ben Compton

    3) it’s nearly over
