This is Christmas mate, time for positive thinking…🤦
  • Not really on subject, but I've noticed that EVERY single game across the top 4 leagues are being televised live tomorrow.
Amazon  Prime is showing all the Prem games, Sky Sports and Sky Sports + are showing all Championship, League 1 & 2 games!
    Never known that before!
  • I vaguely remember a couple of 6-1 with Plymouth - or am I halucinating already

Really looking forward to tomorrow - 8.30 Golf Greensomes shotgun start followed by quick pint at club then football all the way.

It took ages to get there, think we had to change trains about three times and we had a drink in their little wooden social club! Happy memories of football Christmases with my parents.
Would love a repeat of that scoreline this season!

3-0 at the biggest club in the world. How far have we fallen.

A fantastic song about possibly the most famous Christmas football match
  • Beating Plymouth 6-4 at home and losing 6-4 at Home Park sticks out in my memory.

Really. Didn’t know that. I’ll have to finally connect it on our TV. I’ll was thinking of cancelling because I only use it for delivery.
Second thought: there seem to be two types of Prime because Amazon Prime music is very limited for me.
Btw, it is on subject, if you go by the title of the thread.

The reverse fixtures were a few days later, with some rather unexpected results considering what happened on Boxing Day. West Ham won 3-1 at Blackburn, Manchester United beat Burnley 5-1, Ipswich beat Fulham 4-1 and Bolton won 3-0, reversing the score against Sheffield Wednesday

  • 60 years ago the planning of fixtures was no better.

Chelsea go to Blackpool and Blackburn visit West Ham, why not Blackpool v Blackburn and West Ham v Chelsea?

Didn't consider the fans back then.
  • Back then the fixture computer was some old bloke with a MASSIVE piece of paper!

  • Fewer fans travelled away then (couldn't afford it!) and also trains ran on Boxing Day back then
