You laugh, Off_it, but I had to watch from home today and you could see Leaburn holding his hand and when he got up and lost his head a little he was screaming at the ref “he’s tried to break my arm, is he mad?!”. When you watch it back, the 3 had clamped miles’ arm between his own body and arm and yanked sidewards whilst Miles’ arm was the other way. It was naughty and I thought the 3 was a sly little tosspot
I haven’t watched it back, but don’t let your opinion get in the way of Off_it ‘s sly dig at me … LOL. hilarious man he is
  • Changed the game completely. He looks a real player. Shame we didn't notice him before they did, as he's exactly what we need up top to compliment what we have.

Carries on the way he is, and he is destined for the championship, minimum.

Also thought Caleb Taylor was really good for them today who I think we were linked with before? Those two stood out for me.
I’ve seen Taylor play a few times against us and in other games and he’s looked class everytime. Today was his first loss of the season! Good chance he gets recalled as I’ve heard West Brom have a bit of an injury crisis at CB. Wycombe will lose Morley as well. Based on what I saw today and them losing 2 key players, I think they will be in the play offs rather than top 2
  • @Chippycafc is correct on this one. More than one poster here, especially in post match threads after games where he was struggling.  And plenty of others  asserting  that his departure during this window is all but inevitable.
Yes, I've seen plenty thinking he will be sold and wouldn't rule it out myself.
But I missed the posts of people wanting Leaburn to leave.
  • Hugely enjoyable game. Decent performance in the first half, very good in the second half and a good atmosphere throughout. The improving trend in both performances and results continues.

    "Sly dig"?

You said he'd nearly snapped his wrist, which you've since admitted was over the top.

So where is the dig, sly or otherwise?
  • So good to see us turning the corner.

I think NJ is sufficiently irritated by us questioning him it may work in our favour.

    Great win.
  • If we are to have any chance of the play offs, which still seems unlikely but possible, we have to keep Leaburn, Small , Jones (especially), Ramsay (don't know what Ramsay's contract is). Extend their contracts and pay them !!

Probably the best part of today is that Bakinson not only didn't score, but he had an absolute stinker
Picked up a very stupid yellow

It wouldn’t take too long to find them, in the threads after the games pre-Northampton. But no point in going back and picking on individuals (except poor old Golfie of course😉).

What a piss poor pitch. I thought it was meant to be a state of the art pitch with this new stitch together grass. I know the ladies play on it as well but it shouldn’t look like that 5 months in. It’s only going to get worse. As for the game what a great battling display  by everyone. That’s how we should try and play every week. I’m not sure we will be able to hang on to Lloyd Jones as his contract is up in June and today's opponents are looking to sign him. If they don’t offer him a decent contract he will be gone and we will be playing catch up in the transfer market. But you know what this board of directors are like. But well done Charlton let’s enjoy the moment.
If Jones is sold to Wycombe I’ll be more than surprised. There will loads of Championship clubs after him.
He is such a key member of the team I’ll be gutted if he goes, but if he does it’s vital he’s replaced by someone equally aerially dominant.

I've seen a lot worse on here when we have lost. Lots of comments that we deserved to win.  Also agree with them that our pitch is awful in the modern day game.

During the game their response to "Top of the league, your having a laugh" being "Premier League and you fucked it up"" was laughable, presumably the next verse would be " FA Cup winners and you fucked it up".

Wonder what their history is with NJ. A few comments calling him the Rev. and Reverend.
  • I’m I the only one that thought it was 0-0 at half time and Leaburns first goal was at the start of the second half?
I missed the first 60 minutes as I thought it was a 3pm. Only when a mate messaged me at 2-0 did I switch on. Sadly I only saw their goal, but thought we looked solid and untroubled by a very in form team. I feel reinforcements are essential to get us on track for a play off spot. The owners know enough by now. Interesting and potentially exciting weeks to come.

A great end to Christmas schedule.

  • The big difference for me over the past few games has been Berry playing as the advanced midfielder.
He should have scored today and put the lovely ball through to Leaburn.
He's always looking to get in and around the box and looking to get shots away.
He's obviously also being a good influence on younger players, as Leaburn mentioned he went for the lob yesterday, as he see's Berry trying it all the time in training.
  • Miles smiles after all.

Could be why TC tried one in the first half
(Although it didn't get off the ground!)
  • I haven't read any of the previous pages. Back to back to back wins now and against a good team. Leaburn took his goals well, I thought the first one being the better, a strikers goal. There was a decent cross and then he has to get his body in there with a nice touch. Everyone always, including myself, likes goals like the second. Nice ball through, beats the offside, a sort of one on one with a defender and then lobs the keeper from the corner of the box. I'm sure that was not easy and Leaburn showed good skill and composure but what the heck was their keeper doing? He could not make a challenge and he certainly left a huge target behind him. I don't know if I'd say he was our best striker, I would probably say he is our only real striker.
As its Monday morning and I feel like a moan, what the heck is wrong with that pitch? That company that was on the main site and posted on here back in the summer was supposed to be experts. They should have left the old one down and grown a few dandelions, at least the pitch would have been green.

Glad Kone wasn’t playing from the start.
What was the reason he was on the bench? Game losing decision potentially for Wycombe.
