2-2 for me, Reading can score goals but also concede.0

Saturday 4th January 2025 - 3pm Kick-Off
Referee: Scott Oldham
* The players (who have been playing flat out) got some rest
Would like to see: I know we joke about Chuks I would like see him back before he goes
Either Dixon or Kanu on the bench at least.
But i do agree he's probably a way off being considered for the first team.1 -
Looking forward to today, Reading a decent side and have helped me in a good few accas over the last week. Who will win the Adkins reject derby?!0

But at least it gives us a chance of not having to rest players and keeping an unchanged side.
I have a family get together tomorrow that has been planned for months and I'm not going as I will be at the valley instead.
My Mrs and my brother both think I'm being selfish and n o doubt when I don't turn up I'll piss off plenty more relatives.
So Charlton better win to make it all worthwhile2 -

I assume the under soil heating is working well ?1

Important to win this to keep the momentum going and engender the beginnings of some belief in NJ. I think we will although it won’t be easy. Unchanged team surely but our bench continue to make me shudder.1
-
Well my boy predicted 2-1 against Wycombe and said Leaburn would get both
he reckons 3-1 today with Leaburn, TC and Godden scoring
I’ve also asked him to pick the lottery numbers5 -
You just know the additional rest will make us slow and sluggish, we've done really well with a busy couple of weeks and it was a pain to see that ended by a postponement.
Personally I see this one as a 50/50 and with that I will go for a Desmond. 2-2.0 - Sponsored links:

The Elizabeth line means they will be well supported.0

Just had a look at the odds on bet 365. We appear to be hot favourites for some reason.1

Would like a bench of:
Mannion, REG, Taylor, Anderson, Kanu, Ahadme, Godden
Eventually the starters will need a rest/ form shakeup/not actually take a lead and those options give us replacements to maintain our shape and style and have some sort of attacking intent rather than having to rely on the hustle and bustle boys to see a game out....Maybe in another half a season 😅
2-1
Edit: Kanu over Dixon I meant1 -
That's a good bench Phants, full of running, we will no doubt NJ will have A Campbell, and Hylton who are L2 at best👍2

Looking forward to this. A game that actually seems to have a bit riding on it, not on tv, a decent away following, we've hit form, its a saturday and i'm expecting the ground to feel a bit fuller and livelier than it has been. A 3-2 thriller with us nicking it at the end in front of a baying covered end sucking the ball into the net - COYR!!!2

Technical question.
Would it be foolish to water the playing surface on a day like today?1 - Sponsored links:

Looked out the back garden, half of my lawn is frozen, just wondered what time the pitch inspection will be at the valley?0

Frost on cars and tiles in Lee has gone away since this morning, so has the cold frosty looking stuff that was on the grass I could see outside.
Looks cold, but kind of still and light outside.0 -
I'm a big fan of Reading, (Jeffery Deaver & Stephen King amongst my favourites) but I predict a 3-2 victory to us2
-
From memory, whenever we had a match called off at the valley, it was always near the corner flag area, where the sun never shone and the pitch stayed frozen, hairdryers at the ready lads!1
-
Met Office says the current temperature is 3C. Feels more like 7C to me. Maybe it's down to the well known Tropic of Erith effect.2
-
Only one league game off today, the one at Cheltenham, which was called off yesterday, so the weather hasn't taken much of a toll.0
