More points dropped against sides we are competing for a playoff with, unfortunately, to go with Stockport at home, where we dominated, and the late goal conceded at Barnsley.

    Goals: 0.

Ahadme not even coming off the bench. Godden given 5 minutes as our top goalscorer. Hmm.

Agree. It's not a bad performance today but given our very poor start, we can't afford to not win.

Reading keeper man of the match.

    We can't finish for toffee.
Not having that. He did ok, and you could argue his positioning was decent, but their goalie was lucky to be in the way of two of our best chances. Can’t remember an actual decent save he made. He also dropped a massive ricket which we should’ve scored from - his defender blocked the follow up on the line.
I agree with the second bit - we didn’t score because our finishing was poor.

If Campbell and Small had consistent end product to go with their excellent work rate, pace, power, and dribbling then they would be nowhere near League One. We have to be realistic about that.

They both caused Reading all sorts of problems, carried a threat throughout and worked their nuts off getting up and down the pitch. Tyreece also had the ball in the back of the net but was denied by a tight offside call. Not sure you can really ask a whole lot more of them.
Agree, what we need are players who can replace them off the bench and challenge their place in the team.

Deserved to win that. Reading keeper led a very charmed life, even his bollocks saved a goal!

Because the side that was out there was getting lots of chances and there was no reason to upset the balance. Just chucking on a striker doesn’t mean you’re automatically more likely to score a goal.

    "Here we go"

That our top goalscorer while we're looking for a goal didn't come on while TC was blowing out of his arse for 15 minutes before he finally did come off?

Was a good performance but would have preferred to see Godden given more time.

a solid performance where we created loads of chances and didn’t get the rub of the green but people will bitch and moan anyway

Give it a rest for once. We played well. Reading lucky to escape with a point. And you’re looking for things to be negative about.

What's most important to me is we look like a team in the asendency. Still miles better from a few weeks ago. We drew 0-0 and really could have won. Yes, we need results like this to be wins and not draws, and also, we look like a team that if we keep these levels up will be troubling the playoffs. Whether we get in or not I don't know, but that should undoubtedly be the aim.

Also, Reading are quite good despite theirs stars and scrubs team and their off the pitch issues. They're a bit of a bogey team for us so don't mind the draw as much as I might against other sides. Still need to do better, but a very successful Festive Period.

Thierry Small is such an interesting player.
He’s got bags of pace and ability, but is also prone to miscontrolling simple balls - he either failed to control a pass to him or had a heavy touch on numerous occasions. He also loses any composure when he sees the opportunity to shoot. If he can iron these flaws out he’ll be a fantastic player.
