  • Nope

time to play some youngsters in prep for next season!

give game time to Z Mitchell, Dixson, Laqeretabua and Casey and see how they come out by July- absolutely pointless continuing to enable Gilesphey, berry and Chuks in flattering to deceive
  • Absolutely not going to happen.
Need better squad, owners need to invest seriously if they really have any ambitions of promotion.
Squad and manager are just not cutting it.
The Toilet mouthed and blasphemous section of the  fan base need to take a good look at themselves. That disgusting song that we hear at home games regarding incest is a disgrace!!
This season is another failure, no real progress in the cups and more often than not extremely disappointing in the league.
  • Barnsley and Reading both losing, we would have got right in the Play-Offs shake up with a win, but not to be.
    .
  • Crazily still 7 points off play offs with 2 games in hand. If we’d won today we’d be right in the mix, such a missed opportunity

    Absolutely no chance
We have the most ridiculous over the top fans at times
We have some fans that seem to enjoy anything that supports their negativity!  Quick to poor cold water on anyone who believes after a good run but even quicker to scream it’s all over after one setback albeit a disastrous one

Yep win the game in hand midweek and we’re four points off it with still another game in hand on 6th.

Today was a big chance to go four points off it with two games in hand but wasn’t to be.

Yeah... the results today in general went well for us...

Which mean...I cling on to a glimmer of hope of playoffs. Mock me if you like... but my support of this club is inextricably linked to such hope

  • Not a hope!
  • It's less likely than the last game.
  • No point talking about if we win this or if we win that, we have zero consistency. So even if we win a game or two, it'll never last.
  • I’m sure 1-2 signings in the next couple of weeks will get us right up there :)
  • Probably not, but to win the playoffs you need three decent games in a row, so it doesn’t matter either way.

And this is the reason we're very unlikely to get a play-off spot.
We cannot afford to lose games, and particularly when the teams around us do likewise.
  • Not a good day at the office. If it was a 10-15% chance before today, it drops by a couple of percentage points.
    It was 0% today
    It's -2% now

    Callum when do you learn?!

Next 4 league fixtures should tell us. All very winnable.
Take 10 points from them and I will start to believe.
Agree the next 4 will be a good indication, unfortunately, I don't think they're all that winnable.

Bolton in our last 10 we have won twice, last 8 times away there we have won once, Rotherham will be tough, they've been showing some fight lately, same as Shrewsbury, lost 1 in last 5, as for Bristol Rovers, proper dodgy team for us atm, lost 5 in a row vs them lot.

10 points would be nice, and keeps us on target, but the next 4 are genuinely quite tough for us.

I also think the sleeper team this year is Leyton Orient, I don't know what's been put in their porridge, but they're doing very well recently

Agree that long term form against Bolton is awful but you can also say that we have picked up 4 points from last 2 against them, both under Jones. Also think the way they play is perfect for our press so fancy us to get a win there.

Rotherham will be an ugly game, always is against Evans - would take a point if we can back it up with 3 at Bolton.

Shrewsbury/Bristol Rovers - 6 points are a must - we have a lot of home games against the lower half to come so we need to build the momentum here

Interesting point around Leyton Orient, they were nowhere after 10 games so it shows if you can put a good run together then it's possible to get into the mix.

I feel positive given we are usually awful around the winter period and down to the bare bones squad wise. The football has got a lot better since the debacle that was Crawley and we have an almost fully-fit squad. We need to trim it and add a bit more going forward, but it's nice to be looking up rather than down going into the second half of the season.

That’s what I get for being positive!
  • Most of us are agreed that we don't honestly look like a promotion team.

Nor do most other sides above us though.
Their form is as inconsistent as ours.

Any team that does finally put a run together could nail a play off place.
That's exactly what we did from March 2019.

There's a lot of football still to be played this season.
Unbelievably, despite our unconvincing season, the chance is still there.

Comparing the 2018/19 team to this mob is bordering on sacrilege. In that season we weren’t amazing in the first half of the season, but by early-November we had broken into the top six and pretty much stayed there until the end. This season it’s mid-January and we haven’t been anywhere near the playoffs apart from the beginning of the campaign.

I get that you’re trying to look for a positive reference point, but far more often when we’re rubbish in the first half of the season we don’t get promoted in the second half of the season precisely because we are rubbish.

A better comparison would be 2017/18. We went on a late run from around 10th/11th into the play offs with a game to spare. The question is whether this team is good enough to put that consistent run together. It doesn’t look likely

I think we will have a decent second half of the season but come up short, with probably too many draws, and finish 8th or 9th

I wasn't comparing the 2019 team to this season's though.

Merely pointing out that all the play off chasing teams are as inconsistent as Charlton.
And that, unbelievably ...... the play off opportunity is still there.
