  • No betting?

Its clearly expensive but if they made good on their bets maybe not so terrible?

  • Accommodation £1,000???
They charge  ridiculous prices for accommodation  they really ramp them up just like holiday prices when  schools are off.
    See palace haters early post.
  • I imagine this year will be my last.

Tuesday on train there and back same day. ( never done Tuesday so am looking forward to this element )

Weds train up to brum in afternoon dinner with Mrs and her family weds eve, Cheltenham on the Thursday for the day then back to brum for eve and then train into London early enough to head to the local for gold cup day.

It’s the greed now my cousin and his mates used to rent a house about 3 miles from Cheltenham and would take it for the full week would work out about £100 a night each but they had rented it for 20+ years, this year the owner agreed and then last week cancelled as can get a few more quid.

lot of speculation that this years numbers will be down but then saw on Insta yesterday that gaucho have opened a pop up restaurant there for the week, it’s turning more and more into nothing remotely to do with horse racing.

Yes, but assuming it's just him he's a £30 return train ride away as well. No need to pay that if you choose not to. I suspect he's not trying to do it on a budget. If he's a blogger, he'll claim most of that as expenses too.
  • Stephen R Power's ability is not wholly limited to horseracing

"Tomorrow I'm going to smash money down on @CelticFC to batter Rangers at home. Nothing will STOP the boys' winning, even my shocking form!"

  • The premier inn in Cheltenham was £575 a night for race week.

And you've got me moaning about having to pay £70 a night down eastbourne this weekend.

    Good god.
Could get a week in benidorm with all your food and drink in for that!...and it looks as though many did.
  • The Benidorm thing I see as a gimmick it’s no where near the same as the festival

When you say Eastbourne, don't you mean Peterborough?
