Hopefully this will be the last time his name is mentioned on tv regarding yet another court case, and he can now slide back to his misses and remain there for the foreseeable...
The Sun, Mail, Express etc, must be nearing the end of their time. I cant remember the last time I bought a paper, I cant ever recall buying the Sun and I don't know anyone who buys a paper anymore. Sad to see people lose their jobs but when they finally pack up I won't be too disappointed. I'm happy Harry boy has scored a victory over that poisonous rag, I don't follow what royals do or don't do and I don't know the ins and outs of his gripe but all the same I'm pleased for him.
I don't know about the others, but the Mail's website gets a lot of traffic.

It’s a pity you obviously haven’t paid more attention to what the court case is about. You might think that fierce media scrutiny only happens to people already in the public eye. That is not the case. Things happen to ordinary people and they suddenly find the media gathered outside their homes. Some people may not choose to believe it but I certainly think that’s one of the reasons Harry has gone this far. He is one of the very few on the planet with the financial power to face down Murdoch, and does it partly on behalf of the vast majority who have no practical protection of the law against the scumbag element within the media.

In what way do Harry's claims against the MSM, using his financial power to face them down, make it easier for the vast majority who have no practical protection of the law. Serious question.

I heard, don't know if its true though, the Mails website is the visited news site in the world. But when you look its not really much of a surprise, titivation and click bait.

Certainly not in the UK - everything is dwarfed by the BBC and MailOnline is actually going backwards.

It highlights the issue of how British law currently gives no practical redress to people whose lives are seriously messed up by this kind of gutter journalistic practice.

I wouldn't disagree with that, but that doesn't directly help those without Harry's profile and financial muscle - unless it leads to meaningful legislative change.

The daily star is the one that baffles me the most.
I always have a look at their front page for what strange sometimes funny cover story they got. Today's is about locking up your bins cos it's gonna get windy, Elon musk could be a nazi and a piece about why cows are great.
Swear it's just financed by someone for their own amusement.
To be fair the Elon Musk Nazi/Roman salute is being widely reported.
I've heard he doesnt know what a Nazi salute was, and that it was purely coincidental... He was simply waving at his good friend Wayne Hennessey in the crowd.
Maybe tomorrow's daily stars front page will be of one ginger in Harry telling another ginger in Elton John that he also didn't let the sun go down on him. Or something along those lines.
Then again they have had this whole bit about Harry calling him the man who doesn't seek media attention yet is in the media again.

sadly not - still got the case about no longer qualifying for security. Last I read about it, he wanted his case to be escalated but was told he had to wait in line with everyone else. At least he will eventually get to the front of the queue and not start third, go up to second then go further done the line
NGN offers a full and unequivocal apology to the Duke of Sussex for the serious intrusion by the Sun between 1996 and 2011 into his private life, including incidents of unlawful activities carried out by private investigators working for the Sun.
NGN also offers a full and unequivocal apology to the Duke of Sussex for the phone hacking, surveillance and misuse of private information by journalists and private investigators instructed by them at the News of the World.
NGN further apologises to the Duke for the impact on him of the extensive coverage and serious intrusion into his private life as well as the private life of Diana, Princess of Wales, his late mother, in particular during his younger years. We acknowledge and apologise for the distress caused to the Duke, and the damage inflicted on relationships, friendships and family, and have agreed to pay him substantial damages.
It is also acknowledged, without any admission of illegality, that NGN’s response to the 2006 arrests and subsequent actions were regrettable.
NGN also offers a full and unequivocal apology to Lord Watson for the unwarranted intrusion carried out into his private life during his time in government by the News of the World during the period 2009- 2011.
This includes him being placed under surveillance in 2009 by journalists at the News of the World and those instructed by them. NGN also acknowledges and apologises for the adverse impact this had on Lord Watson’s family and has agreed to pay him substantial damages.
In addition, in 2011 News International received information that information was being passed covertly to Lord Watson from within News International. We now understand that this information was false, and Lord Watson was not in receipt of any such confidential information.
I didn't follow this story that much but was there a chance he could of pursued it and taken those at the sun to the point of imprisonment?
One thing I wanted from the whole hacking scandal when the news of the world went under (to be replaced by the sun on Sunday) was that some of the editors and journalists would be properly punished. I know a couple did serve a bit of time.

He couldn't have had Sun journalists or managers sent to prison. But, now the case is concluded, the full dossier is being sent to the Met, for them to consider whether laws have been broken and whether prosecution is in the public interest.
(I don't think they can possibly find that laws weren't broken).
If we’re talking about alleged breaking of the law some 14 years ago and longer, I would suggest it isn’t in the publics interest to bring criminal prosecutions. I can think of other things I’d much rather the met concentrate on prosecuting.

The Sun and News of the World made many people's lives a misery by their illegal actions, why should they get away with it. NGN staff have committed perjury with their denials, that shouldn't go unpunished

All noted but with police resources at a minimum, this shouldn’t be a priority imo. Perjury is also a very high bar so good luck with that.

Yeah true but imagine if you were on the other side of it. That kind of intrusion ruined people's life's and all for a story in a paper.
@stop_shouting you have mentioned above it is a bit of a waste of the limited resources the met have and I unfortunately agree with you, just how it is.
I'm no fan of Harry, but it's worth bearing in mind that this action all started many years ago (before he whinged about intrusion on his own private life whilst spreading the rest of his family's private lives all over the media!) but on this one I make him right.
He knew what they'd done and stuck to his guns. If it was only about money he would've settled ages ago, just like everyone else did, but he stuck with it and faced them down. Fair play to the ginge.
