Always have a soft spot for Bristol Rovers at home as it was the first game I ever saw back in Easter 1962. Two Stuart Leary goals were enought to bag us the points that day. Hopefully we have enough about us to win this in some comfort, but we haven't reached a point yet where I go expecting us to win. I'll guess 2-1 just like in '62
Gonna be another game where we find it hard to break a team down - i thought Shrewsbury were very good defensively and if Bristol Rovers are anywhere near as good, we may not have the legs to grind them down like we eventually did to Shrewsbury. Maybe Godden starts instead of Leaburn tonight and we give then half hour of both the big guns second half ?
Yep ... hidden in the depths behind the red button/Sky Sports app.
It had better be anyway - I'm not going tonight (otherwise I'd have left well over an hour ago to get there in time) and I'm banking on pictures from Sky Sports and audio from Charlton TV.

What a coincidence as that was my first time at the Valley as well. I only realised a few weeks ago that those two goals were Leary's last for the club before they shipped him off to QPR. We just got there in time to see a real Charlton hero, and their greatest striker.
Also just to let everyone know, ill be there tonight and probably in the Fanzone or crossbars, assume you will all want to buy me a drink/shake my hand
We owe someone a tonking at the Valley and what better team to get it against than Bristol Rovers, who always seem to play so poorly against us and still win. 5-0
Sorry quick question, parking for tonight I can park closer to the ground after 6:30pm is that correct? Used to park on the big hill by the animal park.
First time driving to a midweek fixture this season.

think you are fine anywhere after 6.30pm mate
As you're allowed to park in the controlled zone for 2 hours I suppose technically you can park closer to the ground from 4:31pm as the restrictions are lifted before your 2 hour window closes.
(Unless they've changed the time from 6:30pm just to piss us off on a matchday ...)
After remaining unbeaten across their 10 league games against Bristol Rovers between 2010 and 2021 (W6 D4), Charlton Athletic have since lost each of their last five against the Gas.
Bristol Rovers have won both of their last two away league games against Charlton Athletic, as many victories as across their prior 26 such matches combined between 1927 and 2021 (D5 L19).
Charlton have won both of their last two midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) league games, last winning three in a row in April 2021, a run of four during which the third win was at home to Bristol Rovers (3-2).
Bristol Rovers have lost each of their last four midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) league fixtures, last losing more in a row in the EFL in April 1999 (6).
My 2nd and last game this season, (unless we achieve top 6) and I'd love to see us give them a pasting. I don't think in all the 40 plus years of supporting us, I've seen us absolute tonk someone. Tonight's the night.
Usually in the covered end for games, but I want to witness the mental antics of NJ, and how he manages, so have gone with a west stand seat a few rows behind our dugout. It'll be strange having to sit down and mind my language.
So, I'm going for a 5-0 win, and the march continues to promise land of promotion.
Having lived in Bristol for 4 years I’ve always hated the Bristol sides. About time we taught them a lesson, they’re a seriously poor side and need to be dealt with

Well, that can change tonight.
Charlton to win 2-0, Godden and Chuks on the scoresheet.
