Yes, this is where I wholeheartedly agree with you. For the majority of people, common sense prevails. They can be sure that, whatever gender loo someone uses, it must be the right one. Anyway, the point is, if no-one checks, then the "rule" is preposterous. But, if there are checks, is that something you - or anyone else - would want?

In many places in France you will find unisex public toilets. The principle that some people don't get is it is beyond a left or right thing. It is a reality thing. Yes you can invent a scenario where a transvestite gets their todger out and swings it about for all to see, or you can live in the real world where they would use a cubicle and people in the toilet would be none the wiser. There are not sex checks to enter a toilet and never will be.5

I travelled on an airbus a few years ago to Cuba. It had a downstairs toilet area with about 6 cubicles. Men and women went down the stairs and waited together in the toilet area. When a cubicle was free they went in and locked the door, which is what they would do in a public toilet.3
