small in acres of space more often than not but lack of vision from the midfielders to see him
Their first touch is so poor they are then closed down and can’t get it to him.

Shoutout to Berry. Was right behind Godden for the goal and has been getting much more involved. Gilbert hasn’t got on the pitch but the competition has clearly kicked Berry up the proverbial
  • Footage of AMB before he needed physio treatment, for anyone questioning whether he ACTUALLY needed it or not!!

  • AMB saved the game for us twice there with two heroic moments. That one on one stop was sensational and going down with an “injury” just as it was all falling apart for us. An absolutely incredible moment of shithousery there that killed the game and got us back into things. After that I thought we did rather well. Just need to take that energy into the second half now

Such a good goal. Excellent link up play from the half way line. Lovely link ups by Campbell and Godden.

Fair play again Godden, right place, right time again. Makes me wish we had got him in his prime those years back, bet he was some player.
The way he plays, I dont think age is really a factor. He's all about positioning and clinical finishing. Good couple of years left in him yet.

Excellent team goal between Godden, Campbell, Berry, Docherty and the man who starts the move, Godden is on the spot for the finish from close range.

Let me chirp after all the shit thrown my way a few months back… :-)

Decided to go for a pee just before h/t to avoid the rush - game dull as ditch water - I’m having a pee, big roar - we are 1 nil up 🙄

Awful performance before the AMB time out. We improved a bit after that, but the quality of the goal was still out of keeping with the rest of the game

    Godden and Coventry been superb.

  • Three bad passes from Edwards, near cost dear.

    Goal keeper saved us

Take off full back, need extra midfielder.

    Glad we scored.

Never seen Coventry so far forward before
  • Shocking first 45 minutes. So many misplaced passes.

Highlight was a superb piece of goalkeeping from AMB.

Entertaining game and it's good to be in front, but we've made heavy weather of it so far. Too much head tennis, too many long balls, too many long balls to nobody, too many defensive lapses. On the positive side, Brewer's save was amazing and we have battled hard all over the pitch. Here's hoping for the same effort but with a little more polish in the second half.

Werent they offside before AMB's save?

Godden has been having an excellent game. He’s not going to muscle off a big defender, bring it down, and turn like a Chuks can but he’s been winning more headers than should be expected and has played several nice little flicks and chest passes to teammates. He’s working very hard and been inventive but, up to the goal, we hadn’t been getting enough runners close enough to him. The goal was started by one of those nice flicks but then we finally got a few bodies breaking into the box (including Coventry of all people) and got our reward for some slick passing. A really excellent goal that Godden very much deserved. It’s been a tight game that needed opening with a bit of quality and we found that bit of quality, for a change. Would say we were mostly on top and are value for the lead.
  • Reminded of this by @GregStubley_ before the game - there's four teams in League One that haven't lost a game after going ahead. Charlton and Stevenage are two of them.

So first goal could well have been very important.

Thanks to Roland I think, for dicking him around when he was at Stevenage, and was at the training ground ready to sign one deadline day
Real shame, would have been a great player in our championship team, could have been the difference in staying up.

My mate at work is a Coventry fan and was raving to me about him when we signed him. I had my doubts, but he's proven me wrong.

I always maintained if he was at Birmingham or someone who gets more chances, he'd be banging them in, I was just concerned he wouldn't fit in with our style. Since we have changed our style a bit, he's been very important for us.

Fair play to Godden and Jones.

Go for a dump on 85 minutes and we'll score 3.

Can it get higher than the catwalk? I don't see a cameraman on the roof of the AC...

First bit of passing gets us the goal, not easy to pass on a beach, pitch is awful.

I've never doubted his finishing or class on the ball, it's always been about his physicality and pace for me, and lack of ability to beat a man.

Turns out he can actually win more headers than Miles, and he's probably a better link-up player than most have given him credit for.

If we were more possession based and had a player who could pick a pass through the middle a bit more, he'd really shine.

I'm genuinely impressed he's found some form with the limited opportunities we get.

    Happy days.

He used to attend the Charlton holiday courses but, at the age of 15, it must have been too big an opportunity when Scunthorpe came knocking on his door!

  • I've got a 15-minute lag. This is appalling. There is no way we will ever score. I'm going to give up watching Charlton.
