Suggests we’re still likely to sell this out despite the early kick off.

Looking like a brilliant turnout for an early kick off up north. Big game and a new ground for a lot of people I’d guess

Are we behind the goal for this in the uncovered bit, or we on the side.
We will be behind the goal.
According to Stockport's ticketing website only Blackpool & us seem to have this privilege.

I assume it's like Gillingham, where they only use the open end for games against bigger teams.

Was always the away end in years gone by.

Larger away support gets the railway end. Smaller away followings get a couple of hundred down the side and in this case the railway end is given to home fans.

Stockport are pretty much selling out home tickets for most matches.

The one time I went was in the late 90’s we were in the stand on the side, lost 0-3 to a Kevin Cooper hattrick that day.

If anybody is planning to make a weekend of this note that the RMT strike action affecting Avanti train services on Sundays has now been cancelled.

I think this is the game you are referring to, we're behind the goal.

Surely it'll be sold out, it only holds 10,500. We're not far off selling out and the game is 2.5 weeks away and given they're going for automatic promotion i'd imagine they will sell out as well.

It's definitely this game but I was 100% watching from the side not behind the goal, convinced we had a small number of seats on the side or it was a shared family area or something like that.
  • I am one of the lucky 525 who have got a golden ticket. If you are in prison then breakout you're not going to want to miss this one. It is going to be one great big northern adventure.

We did indeed. Like most away games back then, terrace behind the goal and seats to the side.

I believe they were the only side to do the double over us that season and the only team to beat us at the valley
  • Ticket purchased. I hope it doesn't rain given no roof on away end. Will be first time at Stockport for me, so looking forward to it. I think we should sell out, so should be great atmosphere. Important game, which we can't really afford to lose. Another away game with a fairly convenient station.

If anyone had said to me, after that game, you'll get promoted at the end of the season. I would have looked around for the men in white coats.

Well end up selling out here quite easily and a 1,200 turnout for a 12.30 game in Manchester is fantastic support for us
I think that we will sell out the remaining away games except Mansfield maybe.

Bummer. I'm going through Stockport on way to Manchester Airport at about 10am match day.

For the uninitiated, the pic of the ground and town, show the train station top left of picture. The away end is the open end behind the goal. 10 mins walk, half a mile or so.

  • Pretty sure I saw an Andy Hunt hat-trick against Stockport.
