Whatever, my senior r/card saves me a lot even on a few journeys, e.g. soon going to Stockport and then Wrexham by train and the odd trip to the Valley.
Generally train fares are going up 'soon' according to the clerk at Grimsby station. He couldn't be more specific re prices, but reckons it could vary from rail company to company .. we will see0 -

I applied for a disabled railcard, fuckers wouldn't accept the evidence I submitted. Ended up contacting my surgery, and got a confirmation letter of my bilateral and profound hearing loss. Due to my GP surgery charging £15 for the letter my disabled railcard ended up costing 35 quid, in total, instead of 20 quid. Might just as well have bought a senior railcard for £30. Upside of the disabled railcard is anyone travelling with me gets a third off as well. You dont, I believe, get that with the senior rail card.

Once you've got a DPRC they just send a renewal notice without having to go through the rigmarole again2

Bit of a discount off the full Railcard price here, but I haven't used it myself yet, so do your own checks0 -
You would like to think that once you qualify for a specific card it is easier to renew.....and how about this, reduce travel prices encouraging the use of trains.0

Lots of trains overcrowded already.0

That's the MAX which is £204 a year - but probably better value with the travel insurance included. Only available for under 70s though.0
