Gene Hackman loved the craft of acting but stated he disliked the fame and the business side of film making.
Betsy Arakawa was only 63 and after the autopsys we will find out how Gene his partner and their Dog died.

He lied about his age and spent 4 years in the military from 16.

95 years lived, assuming he had been in reasonable health sounds decent but the trio of deaths are sad.

RIP to a great actor and Jimmy 'popeye' Doyle in the French Connection was a great film and the car chase was 6 minutes long and loud and 'elf and safety' was slack back in 1970 when it was filmed in Brooklyn with Hackman and many stuntmen in one take with real traffic !
  • Great scene in the flim ‘A Bridge Too Far’ when Gene Hackman’s character asks the RAF Officer whose side he is on

    RIP

    Very good, understated actor.

Very funny in comedy roles like Lex Luther but could do hard man roles.

He did Unforgiven and The French Connection but also Superman and Young Frankenstein and was excellent at both types of role. Genuinely a brilliant actor.

Great actor, and you've only got to read this thread to see some of the great roles he had.

95 is a great innings. RIP.

I think his role in Young Frankenstein might actually be my favourite of his performances.

"No foul play involved" apparently. His wife is only 63. Seems unlikely that they all died of natural causes the same night.

    Anyway, RIP. Great actor.
    Suspected Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

    Regardless RIP.
That would make sense because their pet was found dead as well. 95 is a great innings though
    What…..his dog was 95?
  • Brilliant actor. One of my all time favourites. RIP
  • It was as Lex Luther when I first across him then the before & after films followed..RIP Gene, wife along with the family dog.

If the BBC is to be believed, there might be a bit more than this than meets the eye. RIP to all.

95 In dog years, so 13 and a half in actual years. A good innings. RIP.
