Assume a typo but you’ll barely make the second  half getting the 11.30

Surely, an earlier train from Euston would be better.

  • Sir Robert Peel pub seems to open at 10.00.
It's in between station and ground I think. Not sure if it's home only though. Some recommended away pubs other side of station perhaps for after game.
     Anyone have any other info?

Presumably he means getting in at 11:30 if he’s planning on going to Salford afterwards…

    Away Fan Pubs

Pubs in the local vicinity are predominantly used by home fans.
We do recommend for away fans to use the below pubs: Nelson Tavern 98 Wellington Road South Stockport SK1 3UH Nelson Tavern is 0.6 miles to the stadium, just a 14-minute walk.

The Calverts Court (Weatherspoons Stockport) 13 St Petersgate Stockport SK1 1EB The Calverts Court is 1.1 miles to the stadium, just a 22-minute walk.

The Nelly, now that is a proper old school boozer and one I used regular back in the late 70's early 80's. Had no idea it was recognised as an away pub tho.

Their ticketing site shows only about about 250 seats available in home areas.

Thanks Clive, as always, Nelson don't open till 12. Calverts Court is a spoons so open but you have to walk in the opposite direction to the ground pretty much.
We are on limited time b4 game so pre match I think it's robert peel or the ground for us.

Is there any reason why the Nelson would be a comparatively slower walk? If not then these figures can't both be right.

If we assume the same person does the walk, walking at the same pace to each, then it should be 12 minutes to the Nelson if 22 to Calverts Court (not 14), or 25/26 minutes to walk to the Calverts Court if it's 14 minutes to the Nelson. What they should have done is assumed 20 minutes to walk a mile and called it 12 minutes to the Nelson and on the same basis 22 minutes to the Calverts Court.

Slightly confusing as the available tickets are in the labelled Away section BUT excluding Charlton fans ?

Yes, because home fans are normally located behind the goal [ where we will be located] & the normal away section on this occasion will be used by home fans.

The Nelson Tavern is an absolute dive just so we are all aware and won’t be open before 12.

I’ve messaged the landlady of the Robert Peel to see if it’s home fans only as I’ve got a suspicion it is.

Wetherspoons is the best bet in my opinion.

Taking the train from Newark via Doncaster. Just over two hours so not a really early start for me. The 12.30 kick-off means I will get home in time for tea!
