Does anyone know who runs the bike rental system for the bikes racked outside the station? One fell on my leg as I walked past after the game last night and I have a bruise and graze to show for it. Thanks for any help.
I think they were Lime bikes. Charlton Church Lane is on the edge of their hire zone so they stop working and cannot be parked if the rider crosses over that line towards the valley. (Don't know how the 3 lads i saw arriving on them from Ransom Walk managed it)
I see loads of those Lime bikes near me, and they’re always lying on their side if there’s been a high wind. There’s definitely a design flaw with the pull-up stand that they use.

nah, people just drop and go
They can't really do that i think. Each time i hired one (last year) i had to take a picture of it parked in order for the hire period to end and charges to stop. If the AI thought i was parked in a dangerous place it would order me to re-take the picture.im sure it wouldn't allow the bike to be on its side. They are pushed or fall over after being parked I presume.
If the stand wasn't working you could lean it against something and that would usually be ok. There were probably ways to trick the AI for a quick drop and go but i don't think it would be so easy.
If it wasn't in the zone you couldn't park it at all.

And yes, Charlton is a dumping ground for them as it's on the border of the hire zone. Any bike beyond has been hacked or is being ridden very slowly without being hired (they make a loud clicking noise).

I sympathise but not sure where you will get with any complaint - Unless you have proof of their negligence and your consequential loss, you are unlikely to even get a response. If you are looking to give them constructive feedback on the design of their bike rack, I'm sure they will appreciate it.

The problem is that many of them have been 'jailbroken'.
As you know, there's a brake at the back that only unlocks when you connect to the bike via the app. But people run along with only the front wheel down, then slam the back wheel down, breaking the lock. Then they are free to ride, albeit without the electrical assistance.
I see loads of kids riding along while they beep away because they've not been paid for. Then they can drop them wherever they like.

I didn't know that was possible. Not that I would do it. Would seem they have this design issue and one with the stand giving way that Chilham seems to be victim of here.
Think they're lime. Saw them all fall down as a fella was attempting to put one back before the game last night. Bloody menace to London streets these e-bikes. Definitely worth putting a claim in @chilham

A claim for what?
What's the going rate for a bruise and a graze when you wont be able to prove liability?
