Thought Leaburn did well today, he was the right call for today and gave their back line something to think about all game long. I don't think Godden would have had much joy in this game and now he's all rested for Tuesday. Also think Anderson played his part and gave us a bit more energy when we needed it. Is it just me or does he seem leaner and stronger in the upper body than earlier in the season? It does seem to me he's getting more turnovers than before? Sure he could have done better with a couple of passes but he wasn't and isn't the only one, we are L1 after all. Good point won today and well done to everyone who made it to a very sunny and windy Stockport.
Poor game which Stockport shaded, but we were superb at the back .
I didn't like our tactics, as the aerial stuff was meat and drink to their defenders, who loved a scrap. I think Godden would have been more effective, with his experience, as he would have found ways to win free kicks . Leaburn betrayed his inexperience, while Chuks was determined, but now is just a big lump up front, as he's lost his zip.
TC got no protection from the referee, who clearly is more used to reffing Rugby League.
Substitutions were poor . I loathe the paceless front 2 that we ended up with . Gladly the back 4 and keeper were really good . Decent point as long as we win on Tuesday
Losing to Crawley at Home was one of our lowest points this season. They are still fighting for their lives. You would like to think we will get all three points this coming Tuesday, but I think it will be a very tough game, tougher, in fact, than today's match against Stockport. Having said that I will be delighted to be proved wrong.
No one went missing but they have strong defenders, like we do and both Leaburn and Campbell didn't look like Championship players today but not many did other than the CB'S. Good defensive work by all the midfielders and forwards but bereft when we tried to attack. I was always nervous about this game and thought it would be a draw in the preview if we had some luck. Don't think the game was good enough to call it ugly ! But a beautiful point if we win Tuesday and go above the Greater Manchester team.
Thierry Small had a poor game today and I would offer the contract again to him before he runs riot against Crawley.
Difficult game - small pitch, physical opposition, lenient ref and 2 teams prioritising not losing and taking no risks - feel we will be happier with the point than them - would have had leaburn off on 60 mins - really was bossed by their defence

Nah this is silly. Stockport are 4th in the home table behind only Birmingham, Wrexham and ourselves.
Crawley are 22nd in the home table. They’ve won 4, drawn 6 and lost 7 at home this season. The four wins came against Stevenage, Rotherham, Lincoln and Blackpool.
Missed the energy from a full away end, as all the atmosphere lost with it having no roof. A shame because it would have driven us on attacking that end 2nd half
The lack of roof didn't help, but it was still surprisingly lifeless.
Not helped by being dominated in the second half, so the ball was down the other end all the time! I don't recall a decent attack in the second half until the 85th minute.
Long time since I saw a game with so much pushing, holding and shirt pulling. More rugby that football at times. Was always going to be that kind of game and wind and ref encouraged it further.
Banana skin game so happy with the point. Gillesphy and Jones probably the two most impacting for us. Only disappointing was all four forward players (TC, Small, Leaburn, Aneke) didn’t offer anything like Wootton and Olaofe did for them. We went up top with Leaburn and Aneke for the last 40 mins and I don’t think they won a single header against Hills & Pye (would definitely be a cowboy solicitor firm).
Don’t think TC or Small won a single dual with the ball at their feet.
All in all just a lumpy scrap fest, but we come away with something and it’s been an excellent week

Very narrow game and no space for any ballers to get going. Do Stockport have a small pitch?
Result and performance were fine for me. Whether it was the narrow pitch, the strong wind, or a very well drilled and physical opposition, there was no way we were going to be able to have much joy down the flanks today.
Switching to a more combative and physical approach ourselves to gain a good point away was effective enough.
Our defence were superb in difficult conditions, almost always finding a head to the ball first.
Absolutely awful game of football, but that will happen when you play your mirror selves. Stockport are organised, have good, strong centre backs, intelligent midfield schemers and full backs who provide chances for attackers who come narrow. Exactly like us, which meant we cancelled each other out. Our three centre backs were immense, Coventry did his usual and Edwards worked hard. All standard. Small was poor, Leaburn moreso and Docherty won the ball well but was very cowardly with his distribution. Mannion was very good. Other than that I hate how I spent my Saturday afternoon and we shouldn't be allowed to play Stockport again legally. If we get each other in the Play-offs we should both be eliminated for moral reasons.
Bit surprised by reaction on here, that was a tough match & the whole team put in a shift to earn a big point. Two well matched teams who I feel sure will renew battle in the playoffs
An excellent defensive display. We have players who really want to and can defend. Mannion (who does have a touch of Ben Amos in his style at times), Jones and Ramsay were excellent.
Perhaps a little bit of rotation would have seen us perform brighter, but a decent point. Seems a bit undeserving that Gilbert has accumulated 0 minutes in the past two games, but plenty of games remain.
An attritional and edgy spectacle. Stockport had more of the play and marginally more chances but it’s an excellent point. We defended our box very well and 7 points from the last 3 games against our fellow play-off contenders is an excellent haul.

Nathan Jones wanted Godden at his optimum fitness for Tuesday and the way the game went 2nd half I'm not certain it would have made any difference other than he would've won more headers against their CB than Miles who struggled to jump today.
Battled hard, limited quality on the ball, physical affair on a warm day in the sun. Could have nicked it, but happy taking a share of the points to keep us on track for playoffs. There’ll be some tired players after this one. Hope we can get back to some fluidity on Tuesday.
It was a difficult game, but a decent result in the end. We didn't get our attacking game going, and unfortunately, we lacked any quality when we did get the ball as we are prone to be like at times. But Stockport have to be given some credit for that. Was actually praising the ref for letting things go to begin with as at least he was even with it. But it got rediculous and Stockport players could basically do whatever they wanted by the end. Six fouls given against them all game says it all. The proverbial "game we would have lost last season", so the good run continues, and little to complain about.
...Hills & Pye (would definitely be a cowboy solicitor firm)...
I'm thinking more dodgy market traders doing bulk discounts to get rid of a load of bent gear on the quick, "C'mon ladeez an gents, pile it high wiv Hills & Pye".

Excuse/ reason away, but, that's the crux of it.
Good point away.
